That's where the Local PR team comes in! This role - Sr Manager, Communications, Local PR Team Lead - is tasked with bringing the T-Mobile story to life at the local level. You'll manage a team of three seasoned PR professionals that each cover a third of the country. You'll be responsible for setting the strategic direction of the team, managing and leading to results as well as rolling up your sleeves and doing the dirty work - writing, pitching, acting as a spokesperson for print and broadcast, etc - that's needed for a team that is pulled in a million different directions. What you'll do in your role.

As a Local PR team, we

  • Partner with PR SMEs, local marketing and sales, network marketing, government affairs, brand, social, T-Mobile for Business and CSR teams to develop and execute campaigns

  • Amplify national news announcements at the local level

  • Act as talking heads on consumer-oriented broadcast and radio hits

  • Own and manage print and online media relationships

  • Partner closely with our crisis communications team to respond to localized natural disasters and emergencies

  • Help inform and support local retail sales leadership

The ideal candidate will be a true PR pro with a wide range of experiences and a track record of successfully lead teams. You'll come to T-Mobile with a thirst to do big things and you'll have bold ideas about how to tell the T-Mobile story in local markets, particularly in rural America. We're not comfortable with the status quo - you'll need to possess the creativity gene and bring innovative approaches to the table. You'll know how to develop smart, tailored media plans (on the fly!), dream up and sell in unique story concepts, develop and manage reporter relationships and solve problems real time. And when we need you, you'll be willing to pinch hit on a wide variety of projects for the team.

The experience you'll bring.

  • 10+ years' with deep PR expertise

  • Successful track record leading teams

  • Experience in front of a camera is a huge plus!

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

  • In-depth knowledge of what makes news, particularly at the local level

  • Public affairs experience is a bonus

  • Ability to partner across the company and with different teams

  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

  • Calm under pressure amid tight deadlines

  • Understanding of consumer technology and wireless industry

  • Proficient using MS Office suite of products

  • Bachelor's degree is required
