Position Title: Sr. Manager - Commercial Sales

Location: Dallas, TX

Your role

Digital Realty seeks an experienced Sr. Manager, Commercial Sales to lead our expanding team of Commercial Sales Managers, that focus on global colocation and interconnection services. This role involves managing the team's efforts to identify customer needs, propose solutions, foster growth, and build long-term relationships. We seek a dynamic individual with strong sales skills and leadership capabilities to drive performance and growth within the team. The ideal candidate will excel in lead generation, relationship building, and deal closing, and have a proven track record in sales. The candidate must possess sharp coaching abilities to develop and maintain a high-performing team.

What you'll do

  • Lead and grow a team of top talent and deliver productivity that consistently exceeds standards and objectives.

  • Recruit, develop, motivate, and retain top talent, while providing career development and performance management.

  • Create and execute a strategic sales plan that expands our customer base and extends the company's global reach.

  • Meet and exceed sales target of new monthly recurring revenue by building sales pipeline of qualified opportunities, articulating value proposition, and delivering winning solutions.

  • Manage assigned account base and territory to overachieve net new Monthly Recurring Revenue targets.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams (SE/SA, C&A, PMG, and Marketing) on strategy and execution to drive adoption, increase productivity, and reduce/eliminate customer churn.

  • Build a strong cross-functional operating cadence with team to discuss pipeline, forecasting, deal review, execution, and revenue realization.

  • Analyze monthly performance of sales funnel, revenue, and other key operating performance indicators.

  • Identify potential service delivery, operations, and product performance gaps, while driving initiatives for improvement.

  • Identify knowledge gaps within the team and develop plans for resolving them.

  • Execute value-based solution selling techniques and further promote a culture of consultative sales.

  • Meet with clients and prospects to maintain and grow long-lasting relationships.

  • Engage with vendors and partners to create go-to-market strategies with their sales teams.

  • Keep abreast of industry news, market trends, and the competitive landscape.

  • Support ongoing corporate strategy and initiatives while promoting the company's core values.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 5+ years of related working experience, preferably in the data center, telecommunications, IT, or technology fields.

  • Demonstrated history of exceeding booking and revenue targets.

  • Proficiency in lead generation, pipeline management, account management, and forecasting.

  • Experience and working knowledge of indirect sales models. E.g. VARS/IS/Agents/OEM

  • Successful experience with target account selling, solution selling, and/or consultative sales techniques.

  • Proficient at developing and maintaining long-term business relationships with key decision[1]makers.

  • Focus on execution and results, setting high standards for performance, goal setting, and accountability.

  • Builds partnerships and collaborates effectively with others to meet shared objectives, promoting cross-functional alignment and speed to market.

  • Operates effectively in a fast-moving, team-oriented, collaborative environment with strict deadlines. • Experienced in applying knowledge of colocation, hybrid, Private, and Public cloud architectures to sales solutions.

  • Must have an aptitude for understanding how technology products and solutions solve business problems and an ability to explain complicated concepts to a variety of audiences.

  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to articulate, document and present concepts, and action plans, to various levels, both internally and externally.

  • Working knowledge of IaaS, SaaS, and Private Cloud Connection solutions.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.

  • Analytical problem-solving skills to present straightforward solutions.

  • Self-motivated, independent, resourceful, and adaptable.

  • MEDDPICC sales methodology experience strongly preferred, not required.

  • Proficiency in Salesforce.com, Excel, PowerPoint, and other analytical tools.

  • Willingness and ability to travel as required
