Manage and oversight of all commercial label design and development and production processes. Responsible for the Global Serialized recipe development and verification process. Provides guidance to customers on appropriate space and position requirements for Serialization artwork changes. Develop and Control the framework for customers to feed their master data to the company. Technical subject matter expert for the design and execution of all serialization global labels in accordance with GS1 standards & appropriate industry guidelines (e.g. HDA). Manage and develop the serialization demo room for product trials, label creation and recipe verification. Primary customer contact for technical artwork questions and serialization design mock-ups, globally. Controls the label proofing, production and quality control for all commercial labels including drawings, material specifications, revision control, label formats. Reviews and ensures that the overall label process utilizes best available and unified processes globally for Label Creation, Proofing, Printing and QA Control.
Accountable for commercial label development, testing & certification, and production (either internally or via customer) for both serialized and non-serialized packaging labels (Bundle, Shipper, Pallet, etc.) for both internal and external customers.
Primary serialization subject matter expert (SME) for activities including; technical artwork review for products being serialized, serialized label design, serialized technical documents etc.
Manage artwork approval process from creation of drawings through customer (internal or external) approval and act as main point of contact for these activities.
Manage label production processes locally at the Rockford facilities, which includes graphic and artwork design and review, and production of site label content.
Develop and maintain strong work practices and procedures & SOPs which govern the production of labels on a Global Basis, work with other global sites to standardize processes and implement best practice solutions
Provide support to business units by reviewing documents being revised for serialization. For example Batch Records, LE Forms, Set-up Sheets etc.
Work cross functionality with internal partners and customers to ensure delivery of labels in expected timeframe.
Define and Manage off-line serialized recipe creation and verification processes.
Ability to confidently address upper management with accurate, timely status updates for all serialization projects.
Provide suggestions for packaging solutions (Artwork, Printing Location etc.) in the areas of design and specification management for serialization related programs.
Provide support for serialization customer calls.
This position may require overtime and/or weekend work.
Knowledge of and adherence to all PCI, cGMP, and GCP policies, procedures, rules.
Attendance to work is an essential function of this position
May include travel of up to 10-25% to meet with customers on projects and attend business reviews.
Performs other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor.
Bachelor's Degree in a related field and/or 5-7 years related experience and/or training.
