THIS IS WHAT YOU'LL DO:

You will own the development of Rivian's collision repair program & collision repair partner network

  • Develop the collision repair/BIW serviceability strategy for all Rivian vehicles

  • Build a high-impact team of collision repair professionals with global capability of OEM collision repair program implementation & maintenance

  • Define collision repair methods, documentation, and repair times

  • Partner internally for the forecasting and management of body repair parts

  • Create network of body repair facilities in markets where Rivian vehicles are sold

  • Create comprehensive training program for internal and external use and Lead all curriculum and materials development for collision repair training

  • Own feedback mechanism for BIW serviceability and influence change while retaining design and engineering intent

  • Partner with Engineering for the integration of collision repair technicians into BIW prototyping activities

  • Develop methods to reduce cost of insurance, repair downtime, and overall cost of ownership

  • Partner internally and with vendors for the development and integration of repair estimate systems

  • Implement strategy for technical support of auto insurance companies and collision repair program participants

  • Create performance management standards of 3rd party collision repair network participants, ensuring top quality of repairs and customer service

  • Establish paint, cosmetic, service, and structural quality standards in collision repair of Rivian vehicles

  • Collaborate internally and with vendors to establish used vehicle refurbishment standards

THIS IS WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • History of excellence in developing OEM collision repair programs

  • Experience with establishing 3rd party collision repair networks

  • Expertise in serviceability of BIW and benchmarking repair methods

  • OEM body technician certification

  • Degree/Certificate in Automotive Body Repair and Refinishing or equivalent experience

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Vehicle Manufacturing/BIW or equivalent experience

  • Expertise in ground-floor introduction of vehicle service in a direct-to-consumer service environment

  • A customer-centric mindset and approach and an innate drive to improve vehicle ownership experience at all levels

Department: Service Operations

Location: Plymouth Michigan or Palo Alto California, with frequent travel across all Rivian locations and the field

It encompasses mechanical, electrical, thermal and systems verification and validation through characterization and accelerated life testing. We are looking for a Sr. Technical Program Manager who is willing to undertake insane and amazing challenges of managing test programs by connecting all stakeholders, managing priorities and expectations, feeding back test results and concerns in order to create uncompromised and reliable vehicle products. Responsibilities * Own the scope, schedule, implementation and tracking of test projects and results from start to finish. * Set goals, track deliverables, manage expectations, identify risk and drive mitigations across all stages of the project. * Work with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Service Engineering, Supply Chain and the engineering leadership team to gather new requirements scope and timelines and escalate issues to ensure prompt resolution * Aide in driving conversations and issues to closure, defining next steps, and ensuring follow-ups are owned * Influence without reporting structure and operate without guidance * Resolve conflict productively across teams * Maximize productivity in a constantly changing environment of shifting priorities Requirements * 4-5 years of experience in an engineering environment with responsibility for implementing or managing change * Demonstrated experience in technical program management with many cross functional teams * Deep technical knowledge of engineering fundamentals, in mechanical, electrical and software engineering * Problem solver with a talent for approaching complex challenges with a positive outlook * Exceptional organization and communication skills Tesla Motors Palo Alto CA
