POSITION TITLE

Sr. Manager, Analytics

SUMMARY OF PURPOSE/MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary objective of this position is to facilitate the and strengthen insight-driven decision-making and create advanced analytics to help enhance the strategy and tactics of the VaxServe marketing and sales organization. Business knowledge and analytical expertise will be utilized to continuously assess and improve the company's approach in sales force strategy, brand strategy, targeting, and other projects and business opportunities to ensure sales and marketing is performing optimally. This position is responsible for transforming data into meaningful, action-oriented business insights towards optimizing resource utilization and revenue. The ideal candidate is passionate about leveraging data to drive business insights and solve complex problems. This position will report to the Sr. Director, Analytics - VaxServe.

This role is based in Moosic, PA (VaxServe Headquarters) and requires minimal travel (<10%). Candidates will work Eastern Time Zone hours. The ideal candidate will live within a reasonable commuting distance, or be willing to relocate at their own expense.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Work closely with key customers to assess business needs (40%)

  • Act as strategic partner to VaxServe marketing and sales teams in key activities, such as strategic planning, tracking performance, targeting, and other ad-hoc reporting and analysis.

  • Partner to develop and measure KPIs associated with strategy and tactics and keep scorecard of pilots and actions taken.

  • Lead design, development, maintenance, operation, and automation of reporting systems such as KPIs, dashboard, scorecard to assess the performance of the business units and brands and enable business decisions.

  • Collaborate with external customers, internal partners, SV BOS, and Digital teams to ensure efficient delivery of dashboards, strategic reports/analysis, and ad hoc information to support business needs. Contribute to team validation efforts as needed.

  • Drive a structured approach to identifying key business questions and achieve consensus, including discussions on products, competitors, new product pipelines, public polices, etc. to become a true business partner.

  • Support business unit leads with interpretation and analysis of key business indicators to identify and communicate trends, threats, issues, and opportunities.

  • Participate in internal partners' team meetings to gain a deep understanding of the business.

Propose and develop strategic analysis (30%)

  • Develop strategic analyses using multiple tools, data sources, and advanced mathematical and statistical analysis concepts to address complex issues/opportunities as defined by the business.

  • Propose solutions to identified business issues and identify new/additional issues/opportunities for consideration.

  • Utilize advanced analytic thinking and understanding of operations to enhance the strategy and tactics for the marketing and sales organizations.

  • Transform data into meaningful, action-oriented business insights that improve resource utilization and increase revenue.

  • Develop and adhere to QC/validation procedures to achieve the highest level of accuracy and quality standards for analysis.

Develop and oversee cross functional projects (20%)

  • Develop analytics projects that have significant impact on ComOps ability and are driven by key business questions to make timely decisions. Projects will include interaction with a wide range of audiences (Senior Management, Marketing, Field Management & External Customers).

  • Manage projects related to sales force/marketing resource optimization, information governance and external analytics.

  • Support the Sr. Director, Analytics on major cross-functional projects through duties such as coordination of committees, vendor management, and determination of analytical methodology.

  • Manage projects from business requirement development through to rollout and ensure that all timelines are met. Establish clear and accurate objective for each project. Develop project plans and identify key milestones. Ensure project plans are followed, communicated, and end-product is delivered timely, accurately, and to customer satisfaction.

Identify industry best practices (10%)

  • Obtain & maintain technical expertise in available analytical tools. Continue to strengthen ability with existing analytical tools and identify new opportunities and use cases to utilize new tools and concepts, including AI/ML, and propose new solutions.

  • Evaluate new data sets (public and private) to determine robustness and value.

  • Serve as the resident data expert and share best practices/approaches for performance improvement. Coordinate with data management to ensure insights are based on reliable, high-quality information and to caveat analyses, as needed.

  • Proactively identify areas of opportunity through use of all available analytical tools and data, such as IQVIA Claims, IQVIA DDD, Compile, customer utilization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree and 3+ years relevant analytics experience, or a Master's Degree is required in one of the following disciplines: Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Research, or other quantitative discipline.

  • 1-3 years of experience with advanced analytic techniques (such as data mining, predictive modeling, multivariate statistical incl. regression analysis, and cluster analysis) required

  • 1-3 years of experience with programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SAS, SQL, VBA).

  • 1-3 years of experience with AI /ML strongly preferred

  • Experience using analytical platforms (e.g., Databricks, Jupyter Notebook, SAS, SQL developer, etc.).

  • Experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools (e.g., PowerBI, MicroStrategy, Tableau). PowerBI strongly preferred.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Pharmaceutical/Vaccines experience preferred

Dimensions/Scope

This position should provide proactive strategic analysis and ideas to improve the business with respect to marketing and sales. This position is intimately integrated across multiple departments, including marketing, sales, finance, and operations. In order to become a true business partner with key partners, this role will need to have expert level knowledge in multiple analytics tools, different datasets, and many areas of the business to be successful.

The successful candidate will possess the following competencies:

  • Developing new ideas that translate to real world improvements in the vaccine business. Vaccines are a relatively unexplored area from an analytics perspective, and due to the data challenges in this industry the role will require a great deal of creative, "outside of the box" type thinking to be successful.

  • Must possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Also comfortable with imperfect data sets.

  • Strategic thinker with demonstrated formal presentation development and delivery skills is required.

  • Demonstrated abilities to prioritize and manage multiple projects, and effectively influence, collaborate, and communicate with internal partners.
