Primary Function: The Sr. Maintenance Specialist role is responsible for the execution of Management of Change (MOC)/project work via MOC/project work job planning, estimating, and obtaining receiving and storing of materials. The Sr. Maintenance Specialist will be assembling job packages for all MOC/project work and will interact with Operations, Mechanics, Storeroom personnel, and Area Engineers.
The Sr. Maintenance Specialist will also be responsible for assisting the La Porte Plant's Shutdown Coordinator and Shutdown Planner with planning and execution of area Turnarounds as needed. The Sr. Maintenance Specialist partners closely with the Production Mechanical Coordinator, Maintenance Supervisors, La Porte Shutdown Coordinator, and the Area Engineers.
The Sr. Maintenance Specialist is responsible for the preparation of detailed work packages and job plans that include equipment, parts, materials, documentation, and special tools and for the delivery of these parts and services when they are needed.
Attends and participates in MOC/project review meetings in preparation for the Construction Release package.
Plans all MOC/project work orders in SAP by analyzing basic job steps, determining their relative sequence, and identifying parts, materials, special tools, skills, and personnel requirements for each step. Reviews Project/MOC packages, engineering drawings and sketches necessary to complete the work plan.
For task to be completed by outside contractors, send out Project/MOC Construction Release package to contractors to get quote for completing the work. Once bids are received create requisitions to facilitate getting the MOC/project work completed.
Estimate the equipment, cost and manpower/skill needed to execute the MOC/project work.
Determine who will complete the MOC/project work and how the work will be split between work groups.
Order material and equipment as needed for MOC/project work in SAP.
Prepares work packages that include drawings, work permits, procedures, special tools, job plan, work order, safety requirements, and materials.
Develops and communicates material staging plan and ensures job kits are prepared and ready before they are needed for the job.
Delivers assembled work packages to Production Maintenance Coordinator (PMC) before the work is to be implemented. Work with PMC to schedule the work as needed.
Review MOC/project work crew plans with La Porte Shutdown Coordinator for any MOC/project work to be done during TAR.
Update weekly, TAR Job List all MOC/project work planning status.
Audits MOC/project work in progress for safety and adherence to the job plan. Resolves discrepancies with line supervision.
Audits Project/MOC offsite (vendor) work in progress as needed for adherence to the job plan. Resolves discrepancies with appropriate personnel.
Ensures Project/MOC Stored Equipment spreadsheet is up to date and accurate.
Regularly updates and maintains MOC Log spreadsheet located on the P&IP Server.
Attend and Participates in the routine meetings discussing Project/MOC status and scheduling.
Weekly Engineering Status MOC Meeting
Daily Maintenance Scheduling Meeting (as required)
La Porte Shutdown Steering Meeting
Assist the La Porte Shutdown Coordinator and Shutdown Planner with planning and execution of area TARs as needed.
Coordinate the loading and unload Equipment & Material with unit forklift as needed.
Must have at least 10 years' maintenance experience in the chemical industry.
Must have at least 5 years' experience working with SAP.
Knowledge and understanding of reading and interpretations of Project/MOC documentation and packages.
Knowledge and understanding of reading and interpreting project ISOs and detail drawings.
Ability and willingness to work with minimal supervision is a must.
Interpersonal skills and ability to lead and work in a teamwork environment is a must. The successful candidate must be able to interact with multiple functions and diverse groups in operations, maintenance, sourcing, and technical as well as different layers of management.
Strong analytical skills a must. Other skills include proactive in problem solving and utilizing data in a timely manner. Ability to make decisions.
Communication skills are a must. Strong written and verbal skills.
Successful candidate must have knowledge and be proficient with SAP.
Computer skills are a must. Demonstrated proficiency in EXCEL, WORD, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with Primavera.
Leadership through influence is a must.
Organization skills are a must: demonstrated the ability to prioritize, plan, and organize the work.
