SUMMARY/OBJECTIVES

Supports Loan Operations by thoroughly understanding the system and operational needs to then develop a systemic solution to most efficiently handle the business needs. Maintains up-to-date application documentation of processes such as functional overview documents, business flows, procedures, job aids, release documentation and online help. Leads Loan Operations through the testing of business requirements for projects that will enhance, maintain or correct defects in the application which provides the bank with improved application functionality to better assist customers. Maintains an in-depth knowledge of the data to be able to pull reports and ensure data contained within is accurate and covers what is requested. Assists with special initiatives or projects, including M&A. Ensures compliance with South State Bank, N.A. Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other operating procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Serves as subject matter expert on the Fiserv system for loans and for all requests that require changes to Fiserv loan parameters and/or data. Including maintaining data that controls the mainframe application, approving data changes made in production, cataloging approval, procedure updating, and evidence of training documentation of spec and parameter changes for audit purposes.

  • Partners with appropriate business groups to provide severities, priorities and desired releases for identified Fiserv defects and project requests.

  • Partners with IT and Loan Operations Leadership team to ensure proper testing, documenting, and implementing of all Fiserv releases and enhancements. This includes discussing testing timeframe and needs with the team, providing the test cases for regression and enhancements, maintaining availability for assistance while the teams are executing the scripts, reporting of errors, bringing errors to resolution, effectively communicating status updates throughout the testing period and implementation, ensuring all testing documentation is accurate, complete, and stored for audit purposes, etc.

  • Work with designated personnel within the lines of business (Consumer, Commercial & Mortgage) to understand, defined and implement any new products and/or to make changes to existing products. Includes engaging with impacted Managers to determine timeline for implementation, writing and releasing test scripts, setting the proper expectations for the testing timelines, ensuring procedures are updated, and training has been held, communicating to the entire team go live dates, etc.

  • Create requirements for Business Requirements Document using interviews, application analysis, creating business process descriptions and workflow analysis; Evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, translate high-level information into details and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs; Document the requirements specifications gathered according to standard templates.

  • Participates and helps lead the loan servicing team through any conversion related activities. This will include data collection, process discussions, data mapping, testing phases, production conversion, post-conversion monitoring, etc.

  • Provides consulting services between Information Technology and business partners on new initiatives by assessing, researching, testing, and analyzing business needs.

  • Serves as the subject matter expert on writing, ordering, changing, and scheduling system reports (via ERT) from Business Analytics according to the business needs specified in the request.

  • Reviews and approves access to Loan Ops Business Analytics folders.

  • Works with the Management team to identify their needs and helps to create, maintain and improve Fiserv loan documentation used by Loan Operations, which includes but is not limited to User Guides, Job Aids, Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Business Flows, and Online Help.

  • Keeps management apprised of any system or compliance issues that could negatively affect the bank.

  • Reviews system reports to identify trends or problems, apprises management and facilitate the necessary steps to mitigate risks associated and or resolve the issues identified.

  • Engage in multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Ensures compliance South State Holdings, Inc. Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other operating policies and procedures. Completes compliance training, adheres to all anti-money laundering guidelines and procedures and all regulatory requirements.

  • Responds to inquiries from customers, lenders, and other bank personnel.

Qualifications, Education, and Certification Requirements

  • Education: College graduate or equivalent work experience in Loan Operations and/or Information/Technology is required

  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in loan servicing is required. Must be knowledgeable in all loan operations functions including consumer, commercial and mortgage loans. Knowledge of Federal and State regulatory items is required. Experience with FiServ Premier Systems in regard to loans; must have a good understanding of how loans function on Navigator system including loan boarding, maintenance and transaction processing. Must be able to originate reports from the Fiserv system.

  • Certifications/Specific Knowledge: Proficient with Office products including Microsoft Word and Excel with the ability to create and manage spreadsheets.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS/CLASSES

Required annual compliance training; New Employee Orientation; Fiserv courses as needed

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to sit for long periods of time and requires a large amount of time in front of a computer. Must be able to effectively access and interpret information via various computer systems, documents, and reports.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position when working remotely must have a secure home office environment that is free from background noise and distractions. Must also have a reliable, private internet connection that is not supplied by use of cellular data (hot spot). Cable or fiber connections are preferred. Requirements are subject to change, as new systems and technology is delivered. Travel may be required for training, meetings, etc. as needed.
