5+ years experience in Linux/Unix system engineering administration or network engineering administration

You have extensive Linux troubleshooting and performance tuning experience (3 5 yrs.)Implementation level experience in patching and securing Linux and Unix SystemsExperience with various package management tools such as rpm and dpkg

Experience with Virtualization platform (VMWare / KVM, etc)Experience with shell scripting, or any other high level languages scripting such as Perl, Python, or RubyExperience with configuration management (Chef /Puppet / Ansible, etc.)Heavy AWS Deployment ExperienceAble to handle conflicting partner interests effectively

Strong organizational and prioritization skills and a desire to learn

Ability to manage multiple high priority projects simultaneously

Exceptional effective vtechnical communications skills (verbal and written)Knowledge in Administration and maintenance of centralized logging systems

Works independently and as part of a team

You'll be challenged and rewarded as you help build out our compute infrastructure.Though this position is focused primarily on Red Hat Linux and Oracle Linux, you should also understand SAN, RAID, filesystem, and IP networking technologies. The role requires a diverse set of skills, including building tools and automation, working with developers/DBAs/network engineers/SAN engineers/etc., operations, packaging, configuration management, and providing senior engineering leadership. We're looking for the person with not just mastery of the discipline, but with a real passion toward taking it further.Consequently, we require strong communications and interpersonal skills, as you will frequently work with other technical and non-technical organizations as our representative.

You will document your work as you go along, in a way that it is understandable by other systems engineers. Your task management skills and attention to detail should impress us.

Technical BS/MS degree or equivalent work experience

This position requires full technical knowledge of all phases of systems engineering. Reviews, analyzes and tests software system compatibility and determines optimum configuration required for installation. Maintains installation documentation and systems test set. Employees in this position must command an in-depth knowledge of multiple business operating procedures, functionality and the potential impact on other systems or business units. Lead responsibilities include project planning, project management and coordinating technical activities of team members. Oversees technical projects and trains lower level personnel. This job classification requires advanced technical knowledge of software systems, complex systems configurations and problem resolution. Responsibilities 1. Responsible for complex analysis on very large systems development. a. Performs highly complex analysis and programming tasks on large scale systems development and maintenance projects that cross multiple software systems environments and various business units. b. Meets with client groups to define system needs and offers possible solutions to the business issues. Ensures feasibility of technical functionality with existing systems. c. Leads, trains and directs technical staff on assigned project teams using analytical and technical tools. Serves as technical advisor to less knowledgeable team members. d. Coordinates the technical activities of team and monitors assigned tasks to ensure overall project quality. e. Provides technical advice and expertise to project team. Provides input on changes in priorities, scope of project and scheduling. f. Conducts advanced systems testing, debugging and documentation. g. Provides input to management on the annual budget process. Approximates costs associated with assigned projects. b. Provides input into employee annual performance appraisal process.
