JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Airframe Liaison Engineer to join Airframe Engineering Team. The candidate will work closely with engineering support groups, including airframe design, airframe stress, material & processes, and fatigue along with the production area supervisors and managers to support the evaluation of nonconforming product and the execution of repairs per MRB policies and procedures. Assure compliance to Design requirements, including customer specifications, military standards and company policies and procedures. The candidate will participate in root cause corrective action teams in the factory and with suppliers as required to reduce recurring defects.

Sr Liaison & MRB Engineer - Fort Worth
Airframe Liaison &MRB Engineer to join a Aerospace Airframe Engineering Team. The candidate will work closely with engineering support groups, including airframe design, airframe stress, material & processes, and fatigue along with the production area supervisors and managers to support the evaluation of nonconforming product and the execution of repairs per MRB policies and procedures. Assure compliance to Design requirements, including customer specifications, military standards and Bell policies and procedures. The candidate will participate in root cause corrective action teams in the factory and with suppliers as required to reduce recurring defects.
This position is based at a Fort Worth facility.
The candidate will become MRB board member and be certified to disposition non-conforming airframe parts (composite, metallic, bonded panels, welded, castings, forgings and other supporting components) including the design of original repairs (example: doublers/angles/bushing/sleeves, etc.) based on fit/form/function at the next assembly and structural integrity. They will develop timely and cost-effective engineering dispositions for nonconforming components and assemblies that do not meet design requirements thru the approved MRB process. This responsibility also includes non-conformances encountered during production manufacturing and assembly. The candidate will also become a member of the Planning Review Board and be responsible for reviewing and approving fabrication planning as well as providing dispositions for items that are designated as Controlled Items (Primary, Critical, & Flight Safety Parts). Additional responsibilities include providing Engineering cross-function support, design interpretation to manufacturing/production teams and supporting new/existing program development/improvements.
As a member of the MRB, signoff as the engineering authority on dispositions, including Repair (RPR) and Use As Is (UAI) for all nonconformance activity.
Facilitate communication between other Engineering disciplines, Quality, Materials, Manufacturing and Suppliers relative to repairs schemes and engineering-related production problems.
Support the development, maintenance and compliance to Bell Policies & Procedures related to MRB activity.
Ability to work with various manufacturing, procurement, quality and design personnel, and support a diverse manufacturing/assembly and/or Flight test environment.
Support Root Cause/Corrective Action activity, including the investigation of defective, damaged, non-conforming or malfunctioning parts, assemblies, systems or equipment to determine cause of the problem and prevention from recurrence.
Support the ENOVIA Issue, Engineering Change (ECR / ECO), and Variance (VAR/LPV) processes.
10+ years of Liaison Engineering experience or equivalent with MRB or 8+ years of experience with airframe components or aircraft systems with a deep understanding of fabrication processes and the engineering data that defines the product, inspection and MRB systems for the evaluation and repair of composite and metallic components is required.
8+ years of experience in CAD digital product definition (DPD) data, blue prints, parts list, material specifications, standards, process specifications engineering requirements and government regulations is required.
Experience related to structural analysis is preferred.
Experience with the execution of liaison engineering activity using typical CAMS/Visiprise and SAP is preferred.
Familiarity with CATIA v6, CATIA v4, Unigraphics and digital product definition (DPD) is preferred.
Experience working in an aerospace environment, focused on aircraft structure such as longerons, stringers, frames, skins, formers, ribs etc. is preferred.
Experience working in a precision manufacturing environment, focused on composite manufacturing processes such as automatic tape laying, fiber placement, hand lay-up, compression molding, secondary bonding, and co-bonding of carbon/epoxy & carbon/BMI laminates and bonded assemblies is preferred.
Experience working in a precision manufacturing environment, focused on metallic manufacturing processes such as metal machining, sheet metal fabrication, forgings, casting, heat treatments, welding, chemical processing and other specialized processes is preferred.
Proficiency with basic office computer software, specifically the Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) is required.
Must have working knowledgeable of GD&T requirements.
Hands-on maintenance experience on any aviation platform is preferred.
Candidate must be able to work with minimal supervision and prioritize a variety of assignments
Support off-site program tasks as required

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering - or related engineering discipline - is required.
Major in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering is preferred
