Division Overview

Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Today, HPS is deeply engaged in product solutions for OSP Communication utility purposes, and has been actively growing that segment of the business. HPS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. HPS products are also used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries.

Position Overview

Responsible for leading, managing, reporting on and initiating new continuous improvement projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve reoccurring manufacturing line issues

  • Lead improvements through deployment of processes and technologies

  • Run and facilitate process improvements workshops, training, kaizens and information briefs

  • Identify opportunities for improvement of manufacturing efficiencies, quality stability and reduction in costs through systematic removal of waste from the process

  • Assist in creating a 5S environment

  • Work closely with product engineering in product changes/new product introductions

  • Provide technical support/training to direct labor employees

  • Define, refine and improve existing processes including manufacturing processes/procedures, new process development, creation of process documentation, product design for manufacturability and assembly, capacity, efficiency in floor design, production processing and problem solving

  • Develop and implement ergonomic changes in the manufacturing setting

  • Manage large scale projects/programs as required to support all areas of the business including NPD and Operations

  • Evaluate vendor proposals for new equipment

  • Assist in implementing and updating Value Stream Maps

Skills and Experience

  • BS in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering or similar

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Must have demonstrated project management experience

  • A continuous improvement mindset is critical

  • Strong understanding of lean manufacture principles

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Experience monitoring, tracking and continually improving total cost equation

Education

Bachelors Degree

Position Overview This is a hybrid commercial and engineering role responsible for driving growth in new and legacy markets, this role is seen as an integral part of the business and will be tasked with executing tactical and strategic initiatives in collaboration with a cross functional team to grow Electric Motion Companies sales and profitability. Candidates must be action oriented and capable of garnering respect from internal departments and challenging the status quo. Duties and Responsibilities * Collaborate with Product Manager to define and develop customer, market and industry needs in pursuit of short term and long-term business plans. * Develop and execute product line training for internal and external customers, roadmaps, and best in class marketing collateral. * Support Customers with technical and commercial needs on a day to day basis. * Coordinate multiple projects, such as, NPD, extension and derivative development projects from start to finish. * Support the optimization and maintenance of assigned product line in a cost-effective manner, such as, leading cost reduction efforts, engineering change requests and sku rationalization. * Perform or assist with mechanical design and testing needs to qualify or validate product performance. Skills and Experience Ability to travel on business related trips; ability to communicate; ability to work on a personal computer or other related equipment as required; able to walk around the manufacturing shop floor and lift 50 pounds.
