The Senior Instructional Designer will join our dynamic and ambitious team, providing mission-critical guidance to ensure a positive learning experience and organizational impact. Your knowledge of and passion for innovative learning solutions will help influence organizational approach to talent development and promote our reputation as an employer of choice. You'll apply adult learning theory and instructional design techniques to critically assess, design, develop, deploy, and evaluate training solutions and performance support, working with L&D consultants, program managers, other instructional designers, facilitators, operations excellence specialists and managers, and Organizational Effectiveness.
This role will support operations excellence initiatives focusing on speed and quality to drive value for our employees, customers, and carriers. The first planned project is problem solving.
Analyze learning needs and requirements for a variety of education initiatives, including strategic capabilities.
Design, develop, and maintain effective technical and non-technical training solutions based on learning requirements, business and technology changes, and adult learning principles.
Provide leadership and consulting to create and implement proactive learning solutions and recommendations regarding complex situations.
Work with L&D team members and leaders, the business, and subject matter experts to develop training objectives that meet specific learning needs.
Support the deployment of business processes through performance support and/or training and align existing training content with the new processes.
Identify and integrate effective and innovative learning delivery practices into training, including experiential, social and peer learning, and game-based learning.
Must be willing to partner with SMEs and provide feedback regarding adult learning principles, design, and scenario-based learning.
Assist in project management of training initiatives and change management.
Assist in the development of surveys and evaluation strategies for analysis and evaluation and continuously improve onboarding programs based on feedback.
Perform quality writing and editing, ensuring quality work with respect to spelling, grammar, and sentence structure.
Assert self, influence, and demonstrate organizational savvycomfortable having tough conversations.
Model self-improvement practices by staying current on learning industry trends and relevant business topics.
Minimum of 5 years' instructional design and development experience
Excellent time and project management experience and abilities
Advanced proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat
Proficiency with Articulate 360 and Articulate Rise
Experience with the ADDIE process and adult learning theory
Travel 10% or less
Experience in learning and development
Instructional design experience building technical, behavioral, and execution level training for call-center and customer service organization
Proficiency with Adobe Captivate or Camtasia
Proficient with Adobe Creative Cloud specifically Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premier Pro, and Audition
Experience with training methodologies such as Agile, Bloom's Taxonomy, and the Kirkpatrick and/or Phillips models of evaluation and measurement
Ability to design innovative blended learning programs focused on the learner experience
Works well with and through others to achieve desired results; strong team and relationship building skills
Ability to utilize excellent verbal and written communication skills to interface with a variety of stakeholders at all levels effectively
Able to communicate complex concepts, systems, and procedures clearly
Ability to engage and consult with business groups to assess needs; ability to convert information into meaningful business context relevant to the learners needs
