Sr. Java Engineer
This requirement is in task order stage of the process and each candidate considered will be fully screened by our recruiter and technical team lead and if so chosen to proceed in consideration, provisioned an Offer Letter of Intent (LOI). This LOI will need to be reviewed, signed and returned to HighPoint given us full approval to submit the aligned candidates resume to our customer for consideration of this task order
HighPoint is seeking to hire a knowledgeable Senior Java Engineer generalist who, based upon the needs of the Program, may be asked to develop and support custom code, open source technologies and Commercial Off the Shell (COTS) products that comprise all aspects of the system including content management system, preservation repository, public website. The Senior Java Engineer needs to have in-depth knowledge of Government web site architecture, components, and technologies in order to sustain the system and provide technical continuity across components and cross-functional teams.
EDUCATION AND YEARS OF EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
MS/MA degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or other related scientific or technical discipline preferred.
Seven (7) years of relevant experience building, maintaining, troubleshooting, and enhancing Java EE custom applications and web services
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
FDsys/govinfo Search, Repository, Processor, and Web Components and Technologies
JSON, XML, XSLT, XSL, XSD
Custom Applications in Java EE, current supported versions and future versions
Git, GitLab EE
Common and standard open source software build automation tools and IDEs including
Jenkins, Maven, Eclipse, and Nexus Artifact Repository
Common open source administration automation tools including Ansible
Common open source products for analyzing data in real time (e.g. ELK, Zabbix)
Footprints, Trello, Jira (possible future)
Experience troubleshooting operational support issues in a fast-paced Production
Experience with traditional waterfall and agile software development lifecycle
methodologies including Scrum and Kanban.
Experience authoring, editing, and maintaining design documentation, standard operating
procedures, and configuration documentation.
Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills including conveying
technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Knowledge of FDsys/govinfo content, metadata, and architecture.
Knowledge of Federal legislative, regulatory, and judicial processes and publications.
Knowledge of ISO 14721 OAIS and ISO 16363 TDR.
Must be able to fluently communicate in the English language, in writing and orally.
Experience with DevOps, test driven development, and test automation for all levels of the test pyramid.
