Our client, a world leader in Pharmaceuticals and In-Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) tools, is seeking a "Sr. IT Systems Engineer"

Responsibilities

Ownership for design, Implementation, administration, monitoring and optimization of Windows/Linux and its variants in GCP/AWS environments

Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and application issues, networks, file system access, storage, Backups, AD Logins, NFS shared directories, monitoring metrics, and performance analysis. etc.

Configure and integrate software development tool chain to support continuous integration including continuous deployment as required.

Diagnose, isolate and resolve customer technical support requests and document actions taken

Ensure continuous proactive monitoring of GCP, AWS, other computer systems supporting IT, R&D and Sequencing team

Analyze, design, code, and test software to meet business and system requirements

Adhere to high quality software development standards

Document and communicate effectively procedures, configurations, standards, Log collection, Performance analysis, etc.

Experience

Experience with any 3-4 out of Windows server/ESX vSphere/Linux/SAN/NAS/Public cloud environment is required.

Demonstrable experience automating recurring administrative tasks using any scripting tools

Experience in supporting tools used for development such as Jenkins, Artifactory, Crucible is a plus.

Familiarity with ONE configuration management tool i.e. Cloudformation, Terraform, Salt, Ansible, Chef would be a big plus.

Experience with virtualized environments (vSphere a plus) and/or public cloud (AWS or GCP) is preferred.

Excellent technical research, troubleshooting, and analytical skills

Solid understanding and practical experience of software development life cycles, with emphasis on release engineering functions is a plus

Experienced with infrastructure monitoring, system administration and IT Operations process, especially Release Management

Qualifications:

B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent education and experience

10+ years of experience supporting an IT infrastructure role supporting OS, storage, virtualization platforms.

Ability to learn new technologies quickly.

Ability to handle concurrent projects with appropriate priority

Ability to work with team members and stakeholders in other geographic locations, across time zones, across cultures

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong collaboration skills

Self-driven and ability to work independently and interact with project teams.

Demonstrated success handling initiatives of high complexity and risk

Works with little/no supervision and some guidance

Customer focused with a passion and drive for customer satisfaction and delivering business value

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Work experience in Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology industry (preferred)
