How This Role Contributes to Brighthouse Financial:

The Senior IT Solution Owner (Sr. ITSO) is a key role in implementation of the VA Hedging future state solutions in Brighthouse Financial. Sr. ITSO is responsible for the following:

  • Lead the development, integration and implementation of the VA Hedging future state platform for Brighthouse

  • Passionate about driving technical consensus within the Brighthouse and vendor teams, and influence the key organizational stakeholders to meet the business objectives

  • Mentor the technology team(s) in best practices and design patterns towards best in cost technology solutions

  • Ensure BHF enterprise architecture directions are followed, checks and balances are maintained, and stakeholder expectations are managed

  • Facilitates clear and concise written and verbal communication with the stakeholders in BHF and vendor teams

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for custom development, integration and implementation activities in VA Hedging and other highly complex projects

  • Utilize hands on programming expertise to drive consensus and provide oversight to the development team(s)

  • Subject matter expert in domain driven design and reactive microservices to model complex business processes

  • Ability to navigate the organization, influence decision makers and win trust as a key partner to business, technology and vendor teams

  • Define strategic roadmap of technology in partnership with business, data and vendor teams

  • Serve as conduit between senior management and business partners, technology stakeholders and vendors

  • Manage vendor relationship and tracks technology budget for the program portfolio

  • Drives recommendations into the annual strategic planning process, ensuring alignment to the strategic priorities

Essential Business Experience and

Technical Skills:
  • A proven track record for 10+ years of developing critical large-scale solutions with a broad range of exposure to business units is required

  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, inspire and guide a technology team using deep technology expertise and hands on programming skills is required

  • Extensive experience in actor model and large-scale event-based programming , and resolve large scale business problems using reactive microservices required

  • Experience in Scala, Akka, Lagom and Lightbend is a big plus

  • Extensive experience with managing vendors and consultants / contractors, BPO and SaaS solutions in Cloud using an Agile methodology is preferred

  • Prior experience and knowledge of Capital Markets and/or VA Hedging business processes is nice to have

  • Ability to successfully interface and partner with all roles of technical solution stand up projects and programs

  • Self-driven ability to understand, uncover, resolve and recommend options to solve complex business issues with technology solutions

The UC Engineer will design, develop, install, configure and support Cisco unified communications hardware and software in the data center and at client sites. This includes installation and configuration of routers, switches, and firewalls, usually working from preapproved UC designs. He/she utilizes software and hardware tools to identify and diagnose problems and factors that affect UC network and system performance and meets with clients' IT staff and applies analysis techniques and procedures to determine hardware, software, or systems functional specifications. RESPONSIBILITIES * Act as a thought leader and role model for a large and growing team of IT technical professionals * Fully understand and articulate the strategy of our continuous infrastructure model in both technical and business term * Understand, innovate and improve UC solutions and value propositions in our ITIL-based model that includes Design, Transition & Operate phases * Understand customer business requirements and translate them into technical requirements working with senior IT leaders * Provide technology consulting working in partnership with sales for major account opportunities * Develop standards and guideline and keeps up to date on relevant competitive technologies and products, particularly in the Unified Communications discipline * Lead internal company initiatives as well as mentorship for entry level engineers * Design, develop, install, configure and support Cisco unified communications hardware and software in the data center and at client sites. * Install and configure routers, switches, and firewalls, usually working from preapproved UC designs. * Utilize software and hardware tools to identify and diagnose problems and factors that affect UC network and system performance * While in the field, perform UC installations and configurations and identifies problems, errors, misconfigurations, etc. * Advise clients of status and proposed problem resolutions and make recommendations for corrective course of action. * Install and use management tools and agents remotely to monitor and troubleshoot voice and data networks. * Produce quality technical documentation for complex solution * Meet with clients' IT staff and apply analysis techniques and procedures to determine hardware, software, or systems functional specifications. SKILLS * MS or equivalent in Engineering, Telecommunication Networks or related fields * 2 years of experience in the job offered or as an engineer working with Cisco routing/switching; network security protocols, data center support, virtualization systems, and troubleshooting * CCIE Collaboration required * Travel required to client sites within an 80-mile radius of Morristown, NJ.
