Position Summary:

We are looking for a Sr. IT Security Specialist who has experience and expertise with supporting a large scale Firewall, IDS/IPS, Virtual Private Network (VPN), Multifactor Authentication, Email and Web Filtering deployment.

Job Description:

  • Engineering level oversight and level 3 technical support of a network security environment including Firewall, IDS/IPS, email filtering, web filtering, NAC, etc.

  • Work in various roles, i.e., architect, designer, tech support, maintenance support, for the expansion of a highly resilient enterprise network security implementation

  • Provide oversight of front-line operations support team

  • Assist in responses to internal and external compliance audits, penetration tests and vulnerability assessments

  • Provide recommendations regarding direction of systems and applications to help secure access, data and assets

  • Monitor current and proposed laws, regulations, industry standards, and ethical requirements related to information security and privacy

  • Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards relative to the information security arena related to VPN and MFA

  • Work with IT Security product vendors and service providers, to evaluate potential security offerings, including product evaluations, pilots and proof of concept installations

  • Leverage a wide range of security technologies including, but not limited to: logical access controls, identity and access management, LDAP, security incident response, privileged access management, database and system monitoring, end user password management and single sign on systems as well as network device integration

  • Ability to understand and troubleshoot web tunneling, network configurations, system configurations and upgrades, user authentication and AD integration

  • Ability to work well with other technology areas to deploy security technologies

Ideal Candidate:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in a large production IT environment administering and supporting multiple medium to small size applications

  • Significant experience with industry standard technologies such as Cisco ASA, PaloAlto and PulseSecure VPN

  • Significant experience with supporting a large scale network security environment

  • Knowledge of IT security for ID access, data protection, system\application monitoring, system and application access

  • Experience with large application support and change management

  • Working knowledge of Windows and Linux

  • Significant experience with rollout of new technologies and migrations, specifically Firewall migrations and customer support documentation.

  • Knowledge of Radius Servers a plus

Job Description Technical Support Manager –Platform Security Team Manager (Band: 004) Description This role is part of a team responsible for the continuous operation and performance of Cigna's Platform Security Team in Windsor, CT, reporting to the Security, Audit and Compliance Manager for IOTS. The person in this position is expected to have Agile experience and manage a team of four+ FTEs and three+ offshore CTRs for ongoing projects, research, orchestration, planning and security request fulfillment, interfacing with operations and engineering teams across IT. Additionally, they will be responsible for leading maintenance activity, Infrastructure Release alignment, process enforcement and reporting duties, demonstrating strong leadership abilities in security management. This includes coordinating tasks and guiding personnel; maintaining accountability for the completion of changes and problems, streamlining of access management practice, oversight of VTAC duties and patch management programs, and technical work with hardware vendors as needed. Individual will be responsible and accountable for the process and procedures followed for threat reduction and mitigation of discovered vulnerabilities. The individual is equally responsible for partnering with security teams and CIP, driving collaboration and partnership. Specific areas of responsibility are: * Past managerial experience running high-capacity support teams in a challenging, fast-paced environment. * Proven ability to guide direct reports under a common vision and demonstrate leadership through teambuilding. Understanding of Cigna HR management processes critical. * Provide planning support guidance for platforms under VTAC purview within IOTS (server platform, network, database security) and act as senior escalation point when needed. * Oversight for permissions access and Aveksa requests, checking for consistency and accuracy. * Operate and improve services in accordance with business needs, priorities and SLAs * Assist in driving process improvements and procedures that will improve overall patch posture, including automation needs. * Ensure uniformity of security service delivery and attainment of all business and customer objectives. * Assist in driving processes to improve reporting metrics, governance models, and ITIL process adherence. * Enforcement of existing standard processes; will be required to review and propose enhancements on a quarterly basis. * Provide periodic performance reports for review with management, providing input on improvements and quality initiatives. * Understand change control procedures and service management tool HP Service Manager (HPSM). * Possess ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and respond under pressure. * Proven ability to work both independently and as a part of a team Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline and at least 5 years of experience in all phases of infrastructure management, or its equivalent in education and work experience. * Prior experience with a large enterprise environment. * Deep experience with HPSM ticketing systems, Incident, Change and Problem Management systems or equivalent (ServiceNow, Remedy, etc.). * Well versed in three or more of these technologies, server, virtualized platforms (ESX, Nutanix), network, SCCM, database, security. * Vendor Management skills with at least 5 years of proven experience handling support contractors, both onshore and offshore. * Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. Keen attention to detail. * Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. * Able to conduct research into technical security issues and products as required. * Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations. * Ability to present ideas in a user-friendly language. * Highly self-motivated and directed. * Strong customer service orientation is a must.
