Job Description
As a Portfolio Analyst, you will be part of a team responsible for Data Science and Analytics Financial Operations and Lean Portfolio Management (LPM).
This position is responsible for streamlining current financial capabilities and aligning those capabilities to the Lean mindset in support of our Scaled Agile journey. In this role you will partner with Data Science and analytics team as well as finance partners to manage staffing, contracts, and finances, participate in financial exercises such as forecasting and reserving and help streamline our financial staffing practices as we onboard new tools in Apptio.

Responsibilities:
Financial Accountabilities Assist with Financial Operations includes assisting with department financials, including outlook locks, op planning, monthly reserving, capitalization, financial reporting supporting the CIO and business as needed, and various related items
Provides support for data capture, metrics, measurement, ratios, projections around work force.
Partner closely with Data Science and Analytics Portfolio Leads to contribute to ensuring the phase gate deliverables are complete and establishing the investment prioritization process is transparent and collaborative.
Provide support to prepare for portfolio health reviews, scorecards, MOR meetings.
Assist with the reporting of key portfolio metrics e.g., employee engagement, customer satisfaction, productivity, agility, time to market, quality, partner health by reporting of key portfolio metrics
Assists with Rally support and data management and partner with Senior Portfolio Leads to champion the evolution to Agile
Strong influencing skills and ability to build partnerships at various levels of the organization.
Strong financial acumen and knowledge of IT financial management practices.
Proven ability to build commitment and empower others, communicate with clarity, courage, and timeliness.
Assist with Financial Operations such as outlook locks, op planning, monthly reserving, capitalization, tracking Software and Contract costs
Provide support for data capture, metrics, measurement, ratios, projections around work force.
Provide support to prepare for portfolio health reviews, scorecards, MOR meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Effective Communication Skills: Written, Verbal, Presentation.
Strong understanding of Agile and Scaled Agile. Strong knowledge of software development processes and procedures to understand team needs includes fundamentals of iterative and incremental development.
Demonstrate strong financial acumen and knowledge of IT financial management practices.
Ability to influence and partner with various levels of the organization. This requires strong communication skills, written and verbal, as well as comfort presenting in a group setting.
One to two years of portfolio management experience
Familiarity with Apptio, Clarity, Rally, Coupa strongly desired
Strong financial acumen and knowledge of IT financial management practices (budgeting, forecasting, cost optimization, capitalization)
Ability to understanding Agile financials and understands matrixed IT financial management practices
Experience with agile methodology and frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, etc.
SAFe LPM certification a plus
Strong knowledge of software development processes and procedures to understand team needs includes fundamentals of iterative and incremental development
Ability to understand business acumen, to support portfolio strategies with overall business goals
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role.
The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$95,600 - $143,400
