We create the path.SummaryThe IT Collaboration Architect plays a pivotal role in ensuring that IT understands business requirements for collaboration by creating a strategic relationship between the business and IT. This person must have strong technical skills coupled with business process and collaboration systems experience. They will elicit, analyze, specify, and validate the business needs of collaboration project stakeholders. Subsequently, they will design solutions and implement the appropriate architecture to meet those needs across the organization's various collaboration platforms. They will also apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help support the development process when custom development is needed, and to ensure that project deliverables are met according to specifications. In addition, they will be responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of the various collaboration platforms, including AV systems, to ensure availability, reliability, security, and consistency in the end-user experience.Responsibilities10% of timeMaintain a sufficient level of expertise with the organization's current collaboration platform(s) and continually updated knowledge of the rapidly changing collaboration technology market by engaging external experts when needed.25% of timeDesign, plan and implement technology solutions and services to address business collaboration requirements to enable and foster employee-to-employee collaboration in business processes and within organizational units such as project teams and permanent teams.10% of timeClearly identify project stakeholders, engage with project managers and project sponsors to develop project scope and vision for all collaboration-related projects and conduct interviews to gather user requirements via workshops, questionnaires, surveys, site visits, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and other methods.Responsibilities Cont.10% of timeTranslate conceptual user requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to developers/project team, create process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to developers and/or the project team, using new and existing collaboration patterns, and convert the user requirements into feasible options and communicate these back to the business stakeholders.10% of timeConduct research on collaboration software and hardware products to meet agreed upon requirements and to support purchasing efforts and subsequently conduct QA of purchased collaboration solutions to ensure features and functions have been enabled and optimized.10% of timeManage and track the status of requirements throughout the collaboration project lifecycle; enforce and redefine as necessary as well as communicate changes, enhancements, and modifications of business requirements - verbally or through written documentation - to project managers, sponsors, and other stakeholders so that issues and solutions are understood.10% of timeDevelop implementation, training, and communications plans as well as end-user documentation when implementing or changing collaboration systems to ensure successful organizational change management to prevent business disruption10% of timeEnsure ongoing support and maintenance of the various collaboration platforms, including AV systems, to ensure availability, reliability, security, and consistency in the end-user experience.5% of timeWork closely and manage relationships with IT Leads, consultants, and external vendors on the design, implementation, development, and support of collaboration systems.Qualifications10+ years of experience in designing and specifying mission-critical business applications including at least 3 years with collaboration technologies. * Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant work experienceRequired Special Skills * Extensive knowledge of collaboration platform concepts and technical architectures. * Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling, verification, and methodology development. * Experience overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products. * Ability to create systematic and consistent requirements specifications in both technical and user-friendly language. * Demonstrated project management skills and project management software skills, including planning, organizing, and managing resources. * Understanding of application development and software development lifecycle concepts for collaboration solutions requiring custom development. * Proficient technical knowledge of teleconferencing, presentation, and other AV hardwarePreferred Special Skills * Extensive experience with Microsoft collaboration platforms, specifically Sharepoint * Demonstrated knowledge of the organization's core business process and operations.Key Skills, Abilities, and Competencies* Highly self-motivated and directed with the ability to exercise independent judgement and take action on it* Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.* Ability to build productive relationships and capable of delivering results through influence and collaboration* Open minded and willing to leverage the ideas of others to achieve objectives* Independent self-starter with a continuous learning and improvement mindset* Strong customer service orientation combined with a passion for business collaboration technologies and enabling employee-to-employee collaboration.* Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and creative problem-solving skills* Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, demanding and dynamic work environment* Leads cross-functional teams in the resolution of business or systems issues* Oversees and mentors less senior resources and consultant resources as applicable* Drives problem investigation and resolution as required* Internal: Primary point of contact for support of IT collaboration platforms and equipment* Vendor: Primary point of contact for vendor including oversight of managed services and consultantsNearest Major Market: PhiladelphiaApply now "Find similar jobs:IT & Facilities, All JobsSign inWe noticed that you are already a member of our Talent Community.
