Responsibilities:

The Senior IT Business Analyst Supply Chain will be responsible for developing and executing IT strategies for NCI's Supply Chain organization. The candidate will gain in-depth understanding of the customer's business strategy, processes, services, roadmap and the context in which the Supply Chain operates. Working closely with business stakeholders, the candidate will establish short and long-term IT strategies and roadmaps to meet the capabilities required to address Supply Chain's initiatives and challenges.

Essential Duties:

  • Contributing member of a team of analysts and developers who facilitate Supply Chain process and procedure creation and implementation

  • Represent IT in Supply Chain project and leadership meetings, as appropriate

  • Single point of contact for Supply Chain management for all technology related initiatives

  • Build, develop, and maintain highly collaborative working relationships with the business and IT

  • Support and align efforts to meet customer and business needs

  • Review Supply Chain business processes from end-to-end to identify and address risks

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies using LEAN methodologies

  • Serve as a liaison between Supply Chain and IT to assist or gather business requirements needed for new systems and tools, system modifications, enhancements and implementations

  • Lead small to mid-size projects and assist project managers on larger, more complex projects

  • Track budgets and spend as allocated to projects and initiatives

  • Provide project level analysis and documentation (business requirements, scope matrix, use cases, sequence diagrams, future state proposals, UAT plan, and workflow diagrams)

  • Create and maintain issue logs, meeting minutes, meeting schedules, project schedules and updates

  • Collaborate closely with developers to implement the requirements

  • Develop and execute test plans, provide necessary guidance to testers during QA process

  • Identify ways to increase adoption and customer satisfaction

  • Demonstrate up-to-date expertise in Information Systems and guide others in best practices

  • Build relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders and vendors

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer sciences, or similar technical discipline

  • 5+ years IT experience as a business analyst

  • 3 years IT experience working with supply chain, manufacturing, or engineer to order disciplines

  • Experience working within teams

  • Experience working in an Oracle ERP environment with RFID implementations

  • Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.

  • Must be able to travel up to 20%

What you'll do * Aggregate requirements across TransCanada and segment by material and services as applicable * Analyze, identify and upgrade metrics to facilitate delivery of demand forecasts for future project implementation programs * Analyze trends and dynamics of supply markets including supplier capacity, identification and assessment of market risks, determination of trends and dynamics of market business environment * Assure and maintain data integrity on all inputs * Collect, compile, normalize data, and format/present in such a manner that it can be easily interpreted * Communicate market updates/trends and relating the implications of economic conditions and forecasts to SC Single Point of Contact (SPOC) * Communicate specific Demand Planning requirements, solicit demand planning information and analyze it * Design new metrics and prepare reports to monitor forecast or evaluations accurately * Develop and execute analysis on the most complicated, strategic and highest risk category(s)/portfolios and or assigned spend items * Develop and execute process to collect accurate, timely, relevant demand forecast information and analysis for materials and services * Develop PowerPoint presentations, in support of key SC stakeholders, that clearly articulate analytical findings and recommendations as required * Evaluate alternative buy scenarios with market information * Evaluate challenges in meeting demand, identify supply risks * Identify, gather and analyze various spend data from internal and external data sources and manage spend database including spend value * Leverage all available data sources – finance, purchasing, engineering, operations, suppliers, etc., and historical analyses to support SC * Manage statistical accuracy of current and future forecasts and make adjustments accordingly * Perform detailed analysis to understand the spend, demand, market trends, cost drivers, suppliers, lessons learned and best practices pertaining to any service or good or spend * Provide input to value propositions and sourcing options leveraging various techniques (e.g. TCO modelling, cost modelling) * Review historical forecast vs actual spend data in order to validate demand plans * Work with and build strong relationships with Business Unit (BU) stakeholders to gather accurate and reliable data to create demand forecasts * Work with key suppliers and external parties to develop an understanding of the marketplace pertaining to the category or project portfolio * Other tasks as required Minimum Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or equivalent * At least 6 years of Supply Chain Business Analyst experience, cost engineering and/or data science * A designation in a Supply Chain Management program a strong asset * Superior written and oral communication skills, project management skills, analytical and problem solving skills, people management skills and financial acumen are a requirement * Understanding and ability to apply Supply Chain and Category Management objectives and processes * Strong analytic, statistical modeling, and projection skills * Ability to manage multiple high priority projects * Strong listening, interpersonal, and influencing skills to engage Supply Chain and Business Units Preferred Qualifications * Experience within category management will be considered a strong asset * Experience within the oil and gas, pipeline, or power industries * Experience with relevant SAP/Ariba modules a strong asset * Strong negotiation skills, able to drive consensus between stake holders with differing opinions * Experience in SharePoint and Microsoft Power BI is strongly preferred * Field related experience will be considered an asset About our business TC Energy is a leading energy infrastructure company in North America.
