Job Description: SummaryThe Inventory Optimization Manager is a key role in the Supply Chain organization, accountable for the Process Development, Integration, and Governance of Execution for Product Lifecycle Management/Product Portfolio Health, Inventory Optimization Strategies and Demand Pull Strategies.
The Inventory Optimization and PLCM Manager will lead and influence highly-matrixed teams in being accountable for assuring the overall supply chain portfolio maintenance and inventory optimization of the BDX portfolio. This includes responsibility for driving collaborative efforts and standards across supply chain functions (Business Unite Leaders, Marking, Sales and Operations) and participation in BU IBP/S&OP to Reduce Inventory and Improve Cash Flow, by the reduction of under-performing SKUs, NPIs that add value to the future portfolio, and develop customer centric Demand Pull Systems to tie Manufacturing schedules to true customer demand.
Product Life Cycle Management: Lead the process development, integration, and governance of execution across all business units in BD. Including Product Life Cycle Management, Portfolio Health metrics/measures, change management and accountability. Tie these processes into IBP/S&OP across BDX, to drive culture change and sustainment of implemented processes, with a regular PDCA process.
Inventory Optimization: Build and maintain a three-year inventory strategy for all Business units, with monthly/quarterly metrics and actions. Communicate inventory position, budget, and financial re-forecast to senior management via Dashboards. Formulate and recommend policies, procedures, and processes that guide the organization in improving its cash flow and profitability, while still driving topline growth.
Customer Centric Demand Pull Systems: Develop the inventory reduction strategy to connect our manufacturing processes to true customer demand. Establish a "How to" playbook for business units, manufacturing sites and warehouses to implement a true demand pull system for high running codes in their Value Stream.
Must have at least 10+ years of experience in a variety of business, functions, leadership, and people development roles. (influence without authority roles)
4 year degree required.
Demonstrated success leading process development and integrations is required.
Demonstrated experience driving culture change to sustain improvements is required.
The incumbent must have prior project leadership and demonstrate strong leadership skills.
The incumbent interacts with senior level leader of the Corporation and therefore must be able to effectively communicate, influence and manage change to be successful.
A bias for action and high tolerance of ambiguity
Technical Area of Expertise Must have strong Supply Chain and Continuous Improvement program & project management experience and be customer oriented.
Additional and Preferred Skills and Qualific
Master of Science and/or MBA is preferred.
Six Sigma Green Belt and Lean Certification Preferred.
Previous experience medical device industry strongly preferred.
Demonstrated professional strengths in emotional intelligence, communication, leadership, collaboration, partnering, global thinking, strategic, project management and matrix management are required.
Demonstrated ability to build strong cross-functional teams with deep trust that can achieve in the face of challenges and constraints is essential to success is required.
Demonstrated ability to think strategically with high business insight and discernment, form strategic plans and influence executive management cross-functionally is required.
Strong organizational skills, Superior data analysis and statistical skills are required
Must be experienced in leading senior level Kaizen events in global environment.
