Senior Inventory Accountant

As a Senior Inventory Accountant, your primary responsibility will involve bolstering the implementation of protocols, policies, and procedures to uphold the precision of inventory accounting and reporting. You'll play a pivotal role in the financial month-end closing and reporting process by overseeing inventory accounting and analysis, ensuring adherence to corporate policies and U.S. GAAP standards. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with essential business stakeholders and finance partners to offer accounting insights and ensure the punctual and precise reporting of inventory balances.
Key Details
Compile journal entries and accompanying documentation for the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings.
Conduct reconciliations for various balance sheet accounts, ensuring the availability of appropriate supporting documentation.
Prepare monthly financial management reports, incorporating roll-forwards and reserves as necessary.
Analyze and document monthly fluctuations in the income statement and balance sheet.
Offer inventory support for both internal and external audit activities.
Ensure compliance with internal controls within designated areas and contribute to broader organizational compliance efforts.
Perform financial analysis to facilitate strategic decision-making, assessing performance, identifying areas for enhancement, and providing actionable insights to management.
Collaborate with teams across different departments, such as finance and operations, to enhance data flows and streamline processes.
Undertake special projects and fulfill additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, Masters a plus
CPA designation a plus
Experience with SAP
3+ years of public or corporate accounting experience with focus in inventory accounting and reporting setting
Proficiency in the use of database tools and financial reporting packages
Clear communicator, experience running meetings effectively, and to explain complex concepts to a non-technical audience
Complete ownership and accountability of the function given the deadline-oriented nature of the position
