What will a Sr. Internal Auditor at Airgas do?

Internal Audit provides the Executive Management with:

Independence and objective assurance on the level of control over operations and organizational structures, by assessing using a systematic and methodical approach, the quality and effectiveness of Internal Control, Risk Management and corporate governance systems in the Entities;

Audit findings and recommendations contributing to improve the efficiency of operations and therefore create added value, primarily by encouraging the exchange of good practices.

Located at the Airgas Head Office in Radnor, PA, as a member of the Airgas Internal Audit Department you will conduct assignments, primarily within the U.S., focusing on:

The correct implementation of Group / Airgas policies, procedures, codes and guidelines, and prevailing laws and regulations.

The preservation of Group / Airgas assets.

The integrity, reliability, completeness and traceability of financial and accounting information communicated both internally and externally.

The control over operational and functional processes.

You will be located at the Airgas Head Office in Radnor, PA.

What you Can Look Forward To:

Conduct process / internal control reviews (operations, financials, compliance, process oriented).

Identify key risks / weaknesses when evaluating business and branch processes, and make value added recommendations to mitigate risk / improve efficiency.

Document audit tests, processes and audit findings clearly.

Conduct follow up audits (as appropriate) to monitor management's action plans / recommended implementations.

Establish constructive relationships with the audited entities / divisions both during the audit projects and on an ongoing basis.

Actively and efficiently communicate with team members and colleagues to ensure consistency of approaches, work programs and standards.

Safeguard independence of the audit process and ensure confidentiality of information received.

Promote internal audit as a competent partner in creating value.

Conduct / assist with fraud investigations.

Necessary skills:

Strong analytical skills and sound judgement required (analyze operational processes and related internal controls).

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, to various levels of management.

Strong understanding of data analytics to add value to management.

Prefers risk assessments / analysis, rather than compliance audits.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Ability to supervise / lead audits.

Excellent team spirit.

What You'll Bring to the Team:

Bachelor's degree in business or accounting is required.

Minimum 5-8 years of progressive experience in external and internal audit is required.

CPA and/or CIA certification is required.

Knowledge of IIA standards, internal audit and fraud investigation guidelines.

Knowledge of SAP is highly desirable.

Knowledge of a data analytics tool (ex: IDEA) is an asset.

CISA, CRISC or related ISACA certifications and knowledge of Information Systems audits is an asset.

VIEW JOBS 8/5/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-11-03T00:00 Job Summary Responsible for ensuring Avantor's export activities are in full compliance with all applicable export regulations. Provides support and guideance to company personnel on the application of US Government Export Regulations, including: the Export Administration Regulations, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), US Customs & Border Protection Regulations, Bureau of Industry & Security (BIS), the Department of Census, and other agencies. Requires interface with various internal functions and US Government agencies to obtain necessary U.S. Government export licenses, permits, certifications, technology release authorizations, embargoes, antiboycott compliance, and commodity jurisdiction determinations. MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (List in order of importance) * Reviews all products being exported by Avantor and its NA entities and ensures full compliance with applicable regulations. * Serves as the Subject Matter Expert for inquiries from internal & external customers and 3PLs, including: Freight Forwarders, Government Agencies, Customers, Sales Staff, and Operations. * Provides assistance on other governmental agency requirements, e.g. CWC, DEA, FDA, EPA, FCC, F&W, embargoes, red flag issues, and other license, permit, and certification requirements. * Assists in providing guidance concerning the requirements and obligations of exporting under ITAR, Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), and other US and non US export laws and requirements. * Prepares and monitors license applications * Advises departments, vendors and customers on necessary documentation and awareness of NAFTA and other Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) regulatory requirements. * Prepares monthly metrics and submits agency reports, where applicable. * Obtains & maintains export records and other trade related documents, certifications, and licenses. * Develops updates and maintains export control policies and procedures. * Informs business of current and new government regulations and provides plans for compliance. * Conducts internal (audits to ensure the company remains in compliance with all applicable export regulations. * Works with the managers to identify and develop global work processes for exports into their respective areas. QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training, Experience and Certifications) * Must be a US Person. * B.S. College degree (preferred) or equivalent experience required. * Certified US Export Compliance Officer (CUSECO), Export Compliance Professional (ECP), or equivelent certificataion strongly preferred. * Minimum 5 years Export experience. * Customs Brokers License preferred. * Chemical knowledge a plus. KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Those necessary to perform the job competently) * Extensive knowledge of 15 CFR, 22 CFR, and other relevent export regulations (CWC, FIFRA, ITAR, BIS, FDA, DEA, USFW, USDA, etc.), and foreign import requirements. * Experience in application of regulatory requirements, forms, licenses and certifications affecting imported and exported products. Working knowledge/mastery of Schedule B/US HTS Classification & Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCNs). * Knowledge of export & licensing regulations, specifically Department of Commerce, State, and Defense. * Lean, Six-Sigma, or similar experience preferred. * Must have strong oral and written communication skills, be well-organized, and posess excellent problem-solving abilities. * Strong MS Office knowledge/ experience, in Access, Excel, Word. SAP a plus. ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL EFFORT (Under Typical Positions) Typically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level. Work assignments are diversified. Examples of past precedent are used to resolve work problems. New alternatives may be developed to resolve problems. A frequent volume of work and deadlines impose strain on routine basis. Minimal physical effort is required. Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that typically weigh less than 10 lbs. JUSTIFICATION Global Exports represent between $50mm & $100mm in value to legacy VWR/Avantor and the non-integrated companies. These orders are not properly supported, posing a high risk to Avantor/US. An increasing number of Exports will be instrumental in supporting Avantor's growth goals in the Far East. These markets pose greater export compliance risks and must be properly supported.
