Sr. Infrastructure Operations Engineer

The Sr. Infrastructure Operations Engineer is a member of the Infrastructure Operations Team, and is responsible for systems implementation and administration of Azure Cloud infrastructure, as well as designing state-of-the-art technical solutions on Azure that address customer's requirements for scalability, reliability, security, and performance.


  • Installs, configures, automates, and monitors various cloud services

  • Performs operational engineering for activities which include platform upgrades, server patching, monitoring, configuration, and troubleshooting.

  • Provides periodic off-hours on-call support for production and development environments.

  • Designs state-of-the-art technical solutions on Azure that address customer's requirements for scalability, reliability, security, and performance

  • Works closely with a team of architects, engineers, and developers to create functional design specifications, Azure reference architectures, and assist with other project deliverables as needed.

  • Participates in projects in a fast-paced environment, independently or within a team

  • Works closely with peers in project or assigned tasks to meet group and departmental goals and improve processes and practices

  • Participates in regular status meeting with global and local team

  • Contributes to troubleshooting of production issues related to wide range of server and network topics.

  • Lead and coordinate daily operational support.

Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher education level, or its foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Information and Technology and Computer Engineering, or a related engineering/computer field.

  • Minimum of 8 years of related professional experience

  • 3+ years technical support including Microsoft Azure or AWS systems design and implementation

  • Experience supporting Windows and Linux systems running in Azure

  • Experience with Azure NSG

  • Experience with PowerShell

  • Experience with Active Directory including maintaining several domains

Specialized Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of VPN connectivity and client trouble shooting

  • General knowledge of virtualization, cloud computing

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure virtual network appliances

  • Knowledge of network protocols such as: DNS, SMTP, SNMP, SSH, SFTP.

  • Knowledge of Network and TCP/IP routing/subnetting

  • Knowledge of Windows operating systems

  • Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery processes

  • Strong writing skills to document plans and process

  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities

  • Cross cultural communication skills

  • Ability to influence others without direct authority

  • Able to build strong partnership with business partners and the project teams

  • Works well with people who have diverse abilities, experiences, and perspectives

  • Approaches opportunities and issues with an optimistic, action-oriented, and solution-based approach

Other Requirements:

  • Travel: 10%

  • Special Work Hours: Periodic off-hours on-call support for production and development environments.

  • Work Authorization: Legally authorized to work in the country of the job location.

  • Physical: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.

The role is responsible for all operational activities related to our cloud or on premise network infrastructure, engaging with partners and vendor demands and assisting the architecture and engineering team with delivery of new technology as required. The Sr. Network Operations Support Engineer will work collaboratively across multiple IT functions, employees and vendors to ensure that IT operations for cloud and on premise global network infrastructures are reliable and scalable. Planning and implementing programs to enable global network infrastructures to operate effectively and scale reliably. Operational excellence and continuous improvement activities for Global Network Operations through IT Services Management process and procedures. Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to: * Provide operational support of the Reyes Holdings global IP LAN/WAN IP infrastructures including routing, switching, wireless, network security, telecommunications circuits and load balancing supporting 170+ global locations and 3 major contact centers * Responsible for troubleshooting and processing operational tickets received from Tier 1 and Tier 2 support personnel as well as escalated incidents that are received from other sources * Participates in the current and future ITSM processes including but not limited to incident, problem, and change control processes * Recognize, identify and prioritize incidents in accordance with customer business requirements, organizational policies and operational impact * Categorize issues for escalation and assign to appropriate technical teams where required * Act as escalation point for our managed service provider to review and resolve technical issues * Provide technical leadership and maintain accountability till issues are resolved to the business satisfaction * Participates in an on call rotation to provide operational support off hours and as required * Perform basic systems testing and operational tasks (installation of patches, network connectivity testing, script execution, etc.) * Enable and drive continuous improvement through the IT Service Center and Managed Service partners * Collect and review performance reports from various systems to identify issues, trends or develop recommendations to improve operational performance * Perform capacity planning, trend analysis and resource utilization reporting to manage and improve application and infrastructure operations * Work with internal and external technical and service teams to create and/or update knowledge base articles and runbooks to provide improved operational support * Develop and oversee the adherence to maintenance and performance standards * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Any other duties as assigned * This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test * Other projects or duties as assigned. Position Requirements: Required Skills and Experience: * BA or BS Degree or 6 years on-the-job IT technical experience * Minimum of 5 years' experience providing operational support for Cisco networking technologies and infrastructures * Minimum of 5 years' experience with Cisco networking technologies, concepts, products as well as other industry network standards and protocols * Demonstrated experience with LAN/WAN technologies and QOS design and implementation. * Demonstrated experience with driving continuous operational process and service improvements * This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test.
