Position Overview

We are looking for a Sr. Infrastructure Engineer to join a team building our next generation product/service.

This is a SaaS, multi-tenant, microservices based, very large-scale cloud native application that will ingest and process in real time petabytes of data. As part of the initial team you will have the opportunity to help define and build the complete infrastructure for the product. This is a rare opportunity for a developer who loves to make a huge impact in a brand-new product using the latest technologies.

You are a very strong software engineer who is passionate about large-scale systems. You care about producing clean, elegant, maintainable, robust, well-tested code and infrastructure; you enjoy collaborating with others to come up collectively with the best possible solution. You have experience with performance, scalability, and reliability issues of large 24x7 systems.

We are moving from a primarily PaaS infrastructure to an infrastructure that can meet our growing needs while maintaining the compliance and security requirements of the healthcare industry. We seek a motivated self-starter that has experience scaling and automating complex systems on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and PaaS infrastructure using a combination of tools and languages.</p><p><strong>What You’ll Be Responsible For Achieving:</strong></p><ul> <li>Build and maintain an automated, immutable infrastructure that can meet the needs of our product, engineering, and data teams</li> <li>Automate security controls including building a security information and event management (SIEM) system</li> <li>Contribute to documentation including testing standards and best practices</li> <li>Collaborate with product, engineering, and data teams to ensure a balance of infrastructure complexity in the achievement of performance, quality, and reliability as the team develops new functionality</li> <li>Help Manage and participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation</li> </ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p><strong>What Will Make You Successful:</strong></p><ul> <li>Automation mindset — if you can automate it, do it. We practice continuous integration and are working towards continuous deployment.</li> <li>3+ years hands-on experience with cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, </li> <li>Experience with container technologies and orchestration systems such as Nomad and Kubernetes</li> <li>Confidence with AWS using Terraform, Ansible, Consul, Vault, Docker, and various scripting languages, preferably Python and Bash</li> <li>Knowledge of AWS services including IAM, EC2 instances, EC2 autoscaling groups, load balancers, ECR, RDS, ElastiCache, Elasticsearch service, S3, CloudWatch, SNS, SQS, and Route53</li> <li>Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and metrics systems including ELK, Prometheus, and Grafana</li> <li>A solid understanding of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) systems</li> <li>Your philosophy aligns with Agile methodologies and processes</li> </ul><p><strong>What Will Make You Stand Out:</strong></p><ul> <li>Significant experience with AWS identity and access management (IAM) in a multi-account environment</li> <li>Significant experience with AWS networking concepts and services including VPCs, subnets, route tables, security groups, NAT gateways, internet gateways, transit gateways, and site-to-site VPNs</li> <li>Expert level coding abilities in Python, Ruby, Go, or similar languages</li> <li>Experience implementing SIEM tools in cloud environments</li> <li>Experience with CDNs and WAFs</li> <li>Passionate to resolve reliability issues and identify strategies to mitigate going forward</li> <li>Experience working in environments with higher security and regulatory compliance requirements such as HIPAA, HITRUST, PCI, or FedRamp</li> </ul><p><strong>Benefits</strong></p><p>Join our team and help us deliver Care Without Barriers.
