We currently have an opening for an Industrial Engineer. The position helps to plan utilization of facilities, equipment, materials, and personnel to improve efficiency of operations. The role also establishes work measurement programs and analyzes work samples to develop standards for labor utilization. The Industrial Engineer may contribute to the development of budgets and forecasts.

Key Tasks & Accountabilities

  • Directly involved with pilot projects and implementation/deployment of projects with heavy involvement in US route optimization development.

  • Forecasts facility, vehicle, staffing and/or material handling equipment needs in order to improve cost, utilization, service, and efficiencies.

  • Establishes work measurement programs and analyzes work samples to develop standards for labor utilization. Will contribute to the development of budgets and forecasts.

  • Conducts studies to determine the most efficient sequence of operations and workflow by analyzing production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules.

  • Recommends methods for maximizing the utilization of production facilities and personnel by restructuring job duties, reorganizing work flow, relocating workstations and equipment, and purchasing equipment in adherence with governmental, health, safety, and other regulations.

  • Prepares cost estimates for proposed projects and evaluates cost factors; recommends changes in each Service Center/Gateway pertaining to cost control, as well as time and motion, work standards, work methods, personnel utilization, service, and quality.

  • Coordinates routing system changes with airline, hub and ground network in order to optimize service cost.

  • May monitor and evaluate departmental reporting systems.

  • Monitors and evaluates each Service Center/Gateway's progress in managing service and cost.

  • Involvement with Service Provider recommendations and negotiations

  • DHL operational service center operations observations and efficiency designs

Skills & Qualifications

  • Experienced Professional contributor with responsibility for an advanced area of work in the professional field.

  • Requires BS/BA in related discipline and 2-5 years of experience in related field or MS/MA and generally 2-5 years of experience in related field.

  • Professional certification required in some areas.

  • Individual must have the ability to perform to a high standard.

  • Ability to interface and drive results with management at all levels

  • Strong computer based skills using programs such as Microsoft Office, SQL and other DHL proprietary systems.

Conduct exploratory testing to assure a delightful user experience and product standards are maintained. Oversee the development of automated testing solutions and learning best ways to architect solutions. Coordinate testing with international and cross functional teams to ensure testing is performed timely and adequately. Guide and teach other team members. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist with developing and establishing quality assurance standards with vendors and development teams. Develop details testing solutions, coordinate, and guide solution development by junior team members, and continue to learn ways to architect solutions. Collaborate with the Architect Owner and engineers to test incremental development work. Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback. Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases. Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities. Design, develop, and execute automation scripts using selected tool suite. Identify, document, and track bugs. Execute cursory tests as need to ensure quality thresholds are met on all deployments. Investigate product quality in order to make improvements to achieve better customer satisfaction. Develop and apply automation testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs. Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers, and product managers) to identify system requirements. Conduct exploratory testing to identify unintended product behavior. Collaborate with the team to ensure consistent project execution. Escalate any testing-related risks to communicated timeliness as early as possible. Participate in planning meetings, daily stand-up, and demos. Identify quality assurance process bottlenecks and suggest actions for improvement. Adopt a mindset of continuous data and experimental observations to drive ideas. Collect quality data and identify KPIs for product quality. Prepare and present findings for improvement ideas to the team and stakeholders. Assist and train other team members on testing methodologies and QA tools as needed. Work with those responsible for the systems in IT to ensure suitable test environments are configured and maintained for automated software testing to take place. This includes the set-up of the software being tested, generation of test data, or populating/configuring test data. Participate in a culture of continuous improvement by volunteering to present new ways of working to other teams during daily work or through special interest group meetings. Utilize JIRA tickets to organize work, provide transparency, and use as a tool for minimal effort status reporting. Perform other job-related functions as assigned. KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE: EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration or other related field of study; or any combination of relevant work experience and education. EXPERIENCE: 5-7 years' experience as Protractor preferred, or strong Selenium background. Proven background coding JavaScript or any OOP language. Experience with Selenium WebDriver is required. Experience with e-Commerce, cruise/travel industry a plus. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong listening, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
