The Harley-Davidson Motor Company Corporate Headquarters in Milwaukee, WI is the site where the first H-D factory - a wooden shed - was built in 1903 in the backyard of the William C. Davidson family home. Join our team as a Sr Indirect Procurement Analyst.

Job Summary

Join our team as a Senior Indirect Procurement Analyst and help support procurement and vendor management within Logistics and Real Estate.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of the logistics' category plan and sourcing strategies that include industry trends, spend analytics, project pipeline, cost savings and resource planning activities.

  • Engage and collaborate with Legal, Risk and Security departments to ensure compliance and educate stakeholders on procurement processes, roles and responsibilities, proper engagement and appropriate supplier facing communications.

  • Deliver value to the organization through developing RFx documents, evaluating supplier proposals (scope, cost, timing, resource modeling, risk, etc.), and reviewing supplier recommendation and qualification in order to ensure project success.

  • Support and assess current state with direct expertise in the following areas: 3PL, Air Cargo, Ocean Carriers, Ocean Ports, Rail, Trucking, and Warehousing.

  • Develop and execute cost savings strategies to support company goals and departmental commitments.

Experience Requirements

Required

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. In addition, they will have demonstrated the following:

  • Knowledge of global professional services and knowledge of industry trends supporting Logistics and Real Estate.

  • Understanding of legal implications such as terms and conditions required to protect the company such as ownership, intellectual property, data security and liability/indemnification.

  • Experience in contract management.

  • Ability to challenge the status quo and provide alternate solutions.

  • Exposure to purchasing standards and practices.

Preferred

  • Exposure to a global supply base.

  • Experience in the integration of sourced solutions within a lean manufacturing company environment, within the motorcycle or automotive fields.

  • Experience with SAP and Ariba.

Davidson family home. Join our team as a Indirect Procurement Analyst. Job Summary This position will be responsible for developing and implementing commodity strategies. Position will manage supplier selection as well as development activities for indirect goods and professional services for corporate operations, in addition to maintenance, repair, operation supplies for manufacturing operations. This position will be responsible for the request for quotation (RFQ) process, supplier selection and negotiation, contract negotiation, ongoing contract management and change management while measuring quality, cost, and delivery performance of all indirect suppliers. The position will deliver savings through best practice procurement procedures and analytical skills to identify, evaluate and implement opportunities for improvement in supply arrangements and procedures. Job Responsibilities * Demonstrates working knowledge and experience in identifying, establishing, and maintaining relationships with suppliers. Ability to drive results with a moderate level of guidance and direction * Impacts quality of their own work through focusing on problem solving concepts and techniques to assess risk and proactively mitigate, manage, and escalate appropriately * Solves technical, financial, and commercial problems by analyzing possible solutions using experience and judgment with a moderate level of guidance and direction * Provides informal guidance to new Indirect Procurement team members and impacts the work of others within the group * Able to form reccomendations based on data analysis, research and findings * Effectively communicates complex information involving evaluation of industry, legal implications, technical direction, specific process and service familiarity, and related cost drivers Education Requirements Bachelor's Degree Preferred Experience Requirements Required * Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of related experience * Demonstrated knowledge of technical competencies of procurement, category management, supply chain and/or project management * Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a group and/or team and provide guidance to new team members * Proven track record of implementing and managing strategic purchasing relationships with a vast supply base * Experience in identifying, establishing, and maintaining effective relationships with suppliers * Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills * Travel required up to 10%.
