As a Sr. Cybersecurity Analyst, Incident Response you will:

  • Stay abreast of new threats, risks and vulnerabilities

  • Review events generated by various security systems and investigates as needed

  • Analyze suspicious files, email and suspected malware

  • Identify and respond to cyber-security incidents in accordance with the Incident Response process

  • Document lessons learned and makes recommendations on any additional controls which are needed to prevent the incident from recurring

  • Build new mitigating controls and develop signatures for existing controls

  • Proactively apply threat intelligence and hunt for threats in the environment

  • Assess the latest security technologies and makes recommendations based on their potential to enhance the security of the enterprise

  • Experience in a 24x7 global enterprise, preferably in the Financial industry

  • SANS GIAC certifications

  • Experience managing or maintaining malware analysis sandboxes,

  • Knowledge of malware analysis tools

  • Python and/or PowerShell scripting

  • Knowledge of Splunk or other SIEM tools


  • 2+ years of relevant experience

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Understanding of the business and the ability to assess and address risk without negatively impacting the business

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

  • Ability to show initiative and take on new tasks as assigned

  • Ability to effectively communicate risk as it relates to the business

  • Ability to identify and analyze malicious code

  • In depth understanding of Windows operating systems

  • Ability to evaluate exploit code in relationship to existing security controls

  • Strong knowledge of networking and internetworking technologies (TCP/IP, HTTP, SMTP, etc.)

  • Strong knowledge of web application vulnerabilities and solutions

  • Ability to identify vulnerabilities in networks, systems and applications using COTS tools and manual processes

  • General knowledge of network and systems forensics

  • In depth of incident response processes and procedures

  • General knowledge of threat intelligence

  • General knowledge of Unix & Linux operating systems

  • General knowledge of the functions of various security infrastructure, including firewalls, Intrusion Prevention Systems, Proxy Servers, Security Event Managers, VPNs

  • General knowledge of web application technologies (HTML, JavaScript, etc.)

  • Ability to provide 24-hour on-call support one week per month (typically only a few calls that week)

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst independently and proactively consults with business leaders to provide business insight, enabling key strategic business decision making processes. This position often works independently in developing custom BI reporting solutions in support of high priority strategic decision making as well as delivering on highly complex one-off BI reporting requests in support of time-sensitive Executive Leadership initiatives. This role also works independently to perform quantitative / statistical analysis and modeling on large and complex datasets in order to provide data-driven, actionable insight to business leaders. This role leverages depth of knowledge about the business units supported and advanced technical capabilities to handle these complex data, reporting, and advanced analytics needs. The one-off requests and projects will often require the Senior BI analyst to leverage multiple complex data sources to blend and analyze results. Project work involves translating business requirements and creating solutions from original concept, often with little guidance or documentation. The incumbent will work closely with the BI Senior Product Owner and Analyst team as well as key leaders within Individual Investors whom we serve. Incumbent is familiar with Agile practice and perform Scrum Master duties PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES Performance and Management Dashboards * Leads the development of custom performance and management reports/dashboards in support of strategic decision making processes by utilizing the latest data visualization tools and techniques. * Operates as a SME in data visualization and storytelling, providing both reactive and proactive consultative guidance for internal business partners . * Independently coordinates new project requests once prioritized by the Sr. Manager, gathers documents, and translates business requirements for new reporting or modeling needs. * Leverages knowledge of the business to develop business intelligence solutions. Train business users on the usage of these new reporting solutions and present any derived business insight with senior leadership to enable key business decisions * Proactively identifies opportunities to improve and evolve existing business intelligence solutions. Encourages others across the Distribution Intelligence team to do the same. * Partners with Technology to align deliverable and milestones to standards. * Partners with Technology and Distribution Enablement to ensure data is extracted from most appropriate source and is interpreted properly. Actively participates in ongoing data governance discussions as needed. * Analyzes data that are retrieved and assembles presentation quality information with business insight and strategic decision support for use by managers of supported business function(s). Present findings to senior leadership in formal settings to deliver insight into business performance and KPIs. * Partner with Distribution Enablement to ensures data quality and integrity in all project deliverables. * Emphasize strong UX design practices to ensure a positive user experience with all self-serve BI solutions. Business Analytics * Independently and proactively provide consultative analytical support for business partners across Client Experience, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Compliance, and Operations as it relates to existing and potentially new deliverables. * Partner with business unit leadership to evaluate existing performance and management reporting / dashboards and provide more in-depth analytics on existing and new reports where applicable * Perform analytics to identify key drivers to reporting outcomes and provide business insight to business leaders across Client Experience, Sales, Product Marketing, Finance, Compliance, and Operations. * Lead presentations on analytical findings when necessary, providing data-driven business insight to enable important business decision making processes Analytical Modeling & Enablement * Develops advanced analytic / quantitative models in support of key decision making processes as needed. Performs proactive exploratory analysis to generate unsolicited business insight. * Works closely with Sr. Manager and the Data Scientists on analytical modeling projects. Make recommendations on potential new exploratory analysis and advanced analytical modeling opportunities to enable business decisions * Partners closely with the Data Scientists to stay abreast of modeling initiatives they are leading and to share information on modeling initiatives led by the incumbent. * Partners with the Distribution Enablement team to ensure data is extracted from most appropriate source and is interpreted properly prior to developing advanced analytical models. * Promote best practices around analytical modeling techniques and data visualization while also encouraging the consistent usage of USI's standard enterprise BI and Analytics technology * Analyzes business requirements thoroughly to implement BI and Analytical solutions that minimize redundancy and promote reproducibility. * Act as SME in the analytical modeling space, leading knowledge sharing efforts across the Distribution Intelligence team to cross-train, increase awareness, and brand analytical best practices as needed. Project Management & Customer Service * Provides strong transparency through regular, proactive status updates to Distribution Intelligence leadership and business stakeholders on all active projects * Independently leads active and assigned project work, partners with supported business segments to establish project scope and target completion, escalate to Sr. Manager when applicable * Consistently documents all phases of project work and neatly saves documentation on the standard file/web server. Encourage others across Distribution Intelligence to practice thorough documentation and act as SME as needed. * Leverages strong technical skills and training in developing user-friendly, professional grade reports, dashboards, and analytical models. Act as SME for the Distribution Intelligence team in this space. * Promote best practices related to data visualization, analytical modeling, performance and management reporting, consulting, and presentations - may develop or train others in these areas QUALIFICATIONS Required * College degree and 2 years of related work experience, or Associate degree and 4 years related work experience, or High School diploma/equivalent and 6 years related work experience * Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills * Must be able to meet with clients (primarily mid to senior manager level) to translate business requirements * Customer service oriented * Familiarity with Lean Agile practice * Advanced SQL Skills * Strong data and reporting skills – DB Visualizer, SQL Server, Business Objects, MicroStrategy, QlikSense, Tableau, etc * Strong data blending skills – SQL Server, Alteryx, etc. * Demonstrated ability to develop alternative solutions to the most complex problems and recommend the best solution to the business * Experience with process reengineering * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Process oriented, logical thinker * Experience using Microsoft Office Suite * Skilled in the use of Visio or other process or flow chart tool * Advanced knowledge of relational databases and concepts * Advanced in working with disparate data sources (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, Flat Files, structured & unstructured data) * Quantitative / statistical analysis skills – R, SAS, Alteryx, Python * Advanced exploratory data analysis skills * Advanced data cleansing and manipulation skills * Analytical and problem solving skills * Articulate communicator and teamwork mentality * Strong presentation skills * Ability to conceive, communicate, document and implement strategic concepts Preferred * Bachelor's degree in computer science/business management preferred * Advanced quantitative analysis skills * Advanced client service skills * Project Management experience preferred * 3 years of advanced SQL writing experience preferred * Advanced knowledge of Oracle, DB2, and SQL Server preferred * 5 years of related experience T.
