Immunology Clinical Specialist District Manager

Position Description:

The Immunology Clinical Specialist (ICS) District Manager position is responsible for driving demand for the assigned product (CIMZIA Prefilled Syringe) by coordinating, motivating, inspiring, leading and directing the activities of an assigned sales team of Immunology Clinical Specialists within an assigned district; engaging and building relationships with clinical decision makers and office support staff to create the best experiences for patients living with severe immunologic diseases who are treated in the at-home care setting.

The Immunology Clinical Specialist District Manager will be required to demonstrate an excellence in core UCB Stakeholder Facing Competencies that lead to achievement of sales goals and objectives for at-home administered UCB product (CIMZIA Prefilled Syringe).

  • Delivers consistent, compliant sales results of at-home product volume (CIMZIA Prefilled Syringe) in the assigned District by motivating, inspiring, leading and directing the activities of an assigned sales team of Immunology Clinical Specialists

  • Ensures the execution of the At Home business strategy for the assigned market segment,

  • Coaching and developing a results-oriented team of ICS who influence at home medical stakeholders' use of the company's products.

  • Ensuring the ICS sales force understands and applies in-depth clinical and business expertise as they sell and that they demonstrate effective selling skills.

  • Ensures that the ICS salesforce collaborates with business partners efficiently and effectively by being able to accurately articulate the value proposition of the assigned product (CIMZIA Prefilled Syringe), to maximize impact for patients treated at home

  • Building relationships with all stakeholders, to establish a known, long-term presence of the US iPVU and enhance sustainable growth of company products in the District

  • Developing a strong understanding and awareness of the patient journey of care, including the unique needs of patients within the at-home care setting.

  • Establishes an understanding of the local ecosystems, including the payor environment, including pharmacy benefits; demonstrating the ability to successfully navigate the complexities of local care delivery systems and models, comprised of multiple payers, with varying degrees of restriction and barriers to patient access for the assigned UCB product (CIMZIA Prefilled Syringe).

  • Maintains a thorough understanding of the competitive market place and drivers of prescriber decisions.

  • Demonstrates consistent application of the UCB Patient Value Strategy principles by establishing collaborative and team oriented working relationships, integrating with local UCB ecosystem business partners, in a matrix environment encompassing Field Reimbursement Managers, Immunology Clinical Account Specialist and their leadership, Partnership Leads, Regional and National Account Executives and Medical Science Liaisons, as appropriate and in compliance with UCB policies, to ensure coordination and execution of shared accountabilities such as clinical discussions, product access, and advocacy strategies with targeted HCPs.

  • Knows when and how to bring in the right expertise at the right time from other UCB matrix roles based on the customer need or opportunity at hand, ensuring all engagement activities within an account are coordinated and all team members are informed.

  • Strategically manages all allocated resources such as financial/budgets, samples, access opportunities, home office resources.

  • Stays current with all UCB training.

  • Compliant with all UCB policies and approved messages; using only approved UCB sales materials and messages with HCPs, and other external stakeholders.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's degree BA/BS

  • A minimum of five (5) years of successful management and/or supervisory experience of a team selling an FDA approved specialty product or device

  • 5 years direct selling experience to healthcare professionals in the pharmaceutical, biotech, device or healthcare industry that has included:

  • Experience in reimbursement, including at-home administered products

  • Discussing therapeutic strategies to inform and influence decision makers

  • Developing and applying clinical and business expertise, and effective selling skills

  • Executing marketing strategies at the local level

  • Experience with injectable products

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and abilities

  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills

  • Demonstrated business and strategic planning skills to identify unique selling opportunities and adaptability to changing market conditions

  • Demonstrated understanding of managed care landscape and how it influences/impacts business

  • Strong verbal, influencing, presentation and written communication skills

  • Strong collaboration skills and success working in teams

  • Resides within assigned geography

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Marketing, Sales Training, Sales Operations or Market Access experience

  • Completion of a professional leadership development program

  • Experience in reimbursement

  • Experience with injectable biologics products

  • Biological product launch experience

  • Experience in calling on Gastroenterologists or Rheumatologists

Licenses/Certifications: Valid Driver License

Travel Requirements:

  • Ability to drive and/or fly to meetings and client sites

  • Some overnight travel required 25-50%, depending on geographic assignment

VIEW JOBS 10/10/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-01-08T00:00 Responsible for the efficient and effective collection of plasma by performing venipuncture, monitoring the pheresis process and following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). 1 In compliance with SOPs perform all aspects of the pheresis procedure and plasma collection, including donor set-up, donor monitoring and donor disconnect. 2 In compliance with SOPs and Food & Drug Administration (FDA) guidelines, performs venipuncture on donors to begin pheresis process. 3 Evaluates vein performance of the donor to identify possible problems; makes necessary corrections in order to expedite donation time and ensure product quality and donor safety. Ensures donation process is efficient and makes adjustments when necessary to make the process a positive experience for the donor. 4 May educate new donors on the use of therapeutic products made from donated plasma. Explains the screening process, the health screening tests performed, the appointment system, donation fees, center policies, proper nutrition and any other information pertinent to the donor. Ensures that all donor questions are answered timely, accurately and professionally. 5 Maintains alertness to any reaction by donors and assists with reactions or notifies appropriate staff. 6 Uses Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) to record incidents that occur during the pheresis process, such as machine alerts and alarms, volume variances and donor adverse events. 7 Required to perform calibrations and verify that maintenance has been performed as outlined in the SOPs. Required to respond to and resolve complex equipment alarms or donor issues. 8 Troubleshoots equipment failures. Creates incident documentation, removes and/or replaces equipment from service. 9 Monitors donor flow on the donor floor to assure continuous turnover. Alerts Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues. 10 May provide guidance and technical training about processes and procedures to donor floor staff and other staff as required. 11 Collects arm samples or whole blood samples from donors for testing. 12 Ensures the accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). 13 Understands the policies and procedures associated with hyper immune programs at the center if applicable. 14 Maintains clean efficient work environment, and ensures sufficient operating supplies and forms are available as needed. Follows all Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) policies and procedures. Promotes safety in all actions. May conduct routine audits of these internal procedures and documentation. 15 Maintains confidentiality of all personnel, donor and center information. 16 May be cross-trained in other areas to meet the needs of the business. 17 Bilingual skills may be required, at the discretion of the organization, to meet the needs of the business. 18 Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
