The Pueblo Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant (PCAPP) is looking for a Senior I&C Design Engineer at the Pueblo, CO location. This position will report to the Design Assistant Project Engineer at the PCAPP project.
Reviews and coordinates documents with suppliers, other disciplines and customers. Coordinates technical issues with Operations and Cognizant Systems Engineers. Additionally, provides assistance to Maintenance in the field.
Proficient with basic engineering deliverables such as drawings, specifications, and logic diagrams. Proficient with process control algorithms and able to develop/modify logic diagrams. Knowledgeable of major regulations and industry codes and standards applicable to instrumentation and controls. Properly interprets and applies codes & standards and customer design requirements in the preparation of Control Systems design products.
This is a 12 month short-term assignment with a 4-10s schedule. The work hours are from 6: 30am 4: 30pm Monday Thursday. This position may require additional overtime hours as deemed necessary.
Principle responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures and criteria, using independent judgment with limited oversight. Reviews Piping & Instrument Diagrams, Instrument Installation details, and Logic Diagrams for control and instrumentation requirements Specifies field instrumentation requirements for procurement, installation, and troubleshooting Contributes to maintaining the project s instrument database and has knowledge of the applicability of information to be populated in instrument databases Establishes and maintains set points and operating limits for facility controls Evaluates equivalent models for field instrumentation Leads multi-disciplinary design teams on projects of moderate complexity Develops material requisitions and specifications for non-standard instrumentation and bills of material for off-the-shelf instruments and components. Assists in preparation of forecasts, quantity take-offs and change orders Participates in field walkdowns Conducts document and design checking as required
BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Computer, Nuclear, or Electro-Mech engineering from an Accredited institution with 6 years of relevant experience. Must be a United States citizen Must be able to obtain and maintain any security clearances required for this position according to Army Regulation 50-6 (Chemical Surety).
Must be physically fit and able to work safely at a construction site. Must be able to work a flexible schedule and/or additional working hours during Key Project initiative time periods Experience with Microsoft office programs, VISIO, and other common computer programs Excellent listening, oral and written communication, planning and organizational skills
Master s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Computer, Nuclear, or Electro-Mech engineering from an Accredited institution with 4 years of relevant experience Bechtel Certification in Engineering Experience with Agent Monitoring, Electronic Security and operations Closed-Circuit TV (CCTV) systems. Field experience supporting installation or troubleshooting of installed and operating instrumentation/components Experience working on a Department of Defense Project Experience working within an engineering group in an operating facility
