Planet Fitness Headquarters is searching for a Sr. HR Manager, Corporate Club Operations to join our team!
As our Sr. HR Manager, Corporate Club Operations, you will play an integral role in the development and support of all HR initiatives relating to Planet Fitness's corporate owned clubs including recruiting strategy, talent development & management, employee onboarding and engagement, training, employee relations, workforce/succession planning, performance management and professional development.
As our Sr. HR Manager, you will work directly with employees and management to foster strong team dynamics and to ensure the corporate operations business unit thrives. You will lead the HR function for corporate clubs, acting as a guiding partner to management on business issues with a goal of improving the HR support structure and working with leaders to influence and support decisions on organizational effectiveness, communications and compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Formulate and manage partnerships between HR, field based employees and management to deliver value-added service that reflects the business objectives of the organization.
Partner with Regional Managers and Directors in areas related to workforce planning, talent acquisition and assessment, bench planning, employee relations, polices/procedures, employee engagement and retention initiatives.
Play an active role in scheduled bench planning calls.
Ensure recruiting strategies are well planned and effective. Support opportunity markets with site visits and strategic action planning.
Oversee the onboarding process, ensuring that strong HR practices are in place for new employees to maximize productivity and engagement.
Support the management team with the performance management process for all club employees (Bench planning, performance reviews, goal coaching, performance improvement plans, etc.).
Assist in implementation of employee engagement surveys, feedback sessions and action planning.
Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues that arrive via various feedback channels, which include but is not limited to the integrity hotline, fostering a positive and effective employee relations experience. Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations. For investigations, an in-club presence may be needed. Provide coaching and counsel to managers and employees in the resolution of employee-related problems that may be highly sensitive in nature.
Identify training needs for management and lead the implementation of HR training programs and initiatives. Work collaboratively with HR Operations team to ensure the effective development of meaningful and accessible training, tools and resources to enable and support employee careers.
Manage, analyze and report on employee statistics such as survey results, turnover and exit interview feedback to provide recommendations to improve retention and the overall employee experience.
Collaborate with the compensation team on corporate club's compensation strategy and structure.
Work closely with the HR Operations and the Total Rewards team on the administration of HR practices including annual reviews, merit, bonus administration or any other HR operations related projects.
Stay updated on industry trends and laws, ensuring consistent policy implementation and adherence. Oversee and administer updates to all HQ policies and procedures (i.e. federal and state employment legislation, HQ Employee Handbook updates etc.).
Collaborate with HR and other leaders to influence change management initiatives in order to address issues that will enhance overall performance, increase morale and build the overall talent capability of the organization.
Manage and develop HR Business Partner utilizing effective training, performance management and career-development activities.
Lead HR Operations in supporting Corporate Club acquisitions and other initiatives.
Travel to remote markets to tour clubs with field managers to understand the needs of the business.
6-8 years of experience in HR management. Multi-unit retail preferred.
Bachelor's degree in HR Management or related field.
Strong business acumen with a proven background working in a consulting/coaching capacity with management.
Strong understanding of HR programs including organizational planning and development, compensation, performance management, and talent review.
Strong background managing employee relations. Comfortable having difficult conversations, asking challenging questions, and acting as a facilitator for resolving conflicts between parties and getting to a place of understanding.
Demonstrated strategic thinking, creative problem solving and organizational leadership skills.
Ability to effectively prioritize, and handle multiple assignments simultaneously and autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret policies, procedures, and other business practices and ensure alignment with strategic goals and legal requirements.
Ability to forge strong partnerships and work collaboratively with business leaders and HR colleagues while demonstrating a capacity to influence all levels of the organization.
Solid understanding of employment laws and their impact on people and human resources.
