SUMMARY

The Sr. HR Manager partners with the Region Vice President and region leadership team to develop and execute the strategic people agenda. This position acts as a strategic business partner and HR advocate at multiple levels of the organization assessing human resources needs and initiating proactive action plans to identify and develop talent, build capability for robust career opportunities and region succession planning. Responsibilities also include but are not limited to issue resolution, employee relations, building a culture that attracts and retains an engaged workforce, leverage and enhance recognition programs, workforce planning, management development and training, interpreting HR policy, organization design, change management, compliance, diversity, compensation, benefits, and HR special projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develop a strategic people agenda that aligns and supports the region annual operating plan

  • Provide values-based leadership to direct and indirect team of HR professionals and support staff

  • Oversee Team Member relations issues and investigations within all workforce areas supported, including corrective action and performance management at all levels

  • Act as region "Talent CEO" by identifying talent and building IDPs and succession plans

  • Monitor and analyze Team Member retention and other HR metrics, and develop appropriate action plans to address identified needs.

  • Support and assist business partners in analyzing engagement survery, develop and execute action plan

  • Assess organization training needs and develop capability building plan to address gaps, partner with and make recommendations to OD/Training Department

  • Oversee the investigation of unfair treatment/discrimination charges, harasent complaints, wrongful terminations, wage/hour issues and other potential legal matters (in partnership with Legal Department when applicable)

  • Support performance management process to ensure that continuous improvement and implementation of best practices occurs. Advise business partners on goal setting and performance reviews, providing instruction on timeline and process. Counsel business partners on performance ratings and effective communication/coaching to Team Members.

  • HR Policy/Strategy

  • Develop and implement new HR policies and procedures, including the delivery of training/communications to Team Members as needed. Assist in updates to handbook and/or procedures manuals as needed.
  • Organizational Design/Change Management
  • Partner with assigned business partners to develop and maintain an organizational design structure that provides for appropriate levels of management as well as desired development opportunities. Support change management initiatives by creating awareness, understanding, buy-in and ownership for change.
  • Recruiting/Staffing
  • Directly support with management of human capital, advising teams on the use of available headcount, labor dollars. Consult on leadership structure and spans of control. Advise recruiters on talent needs on supported teams and participate in the recruiting, interviewing, testing and selection of exempt and non-exempt positions. Oversee job description, position requisition and job posting processes. Ensure consistent on-boarding process.
  • Values and goals advocacy
  • Act as the "conscience" of the company by delivering, teaching, and enforcing programs that teach leaders the behaviors of a values-based culture; takes a proactive approach to supporting business units in results-oriented goal setting.
  • Compliance
  • Ensure legal compliance in such areas as I-9s, minors, wage/hour, substance abuse testing, etc. Monitor compliance of existing company policies and programs such as postings, orientation, retention, exit interviews, substance abuse testing and revisions to handbooks/manuals and on-boarding materials.
  • Diversity
  • Promote inclusion and an open/equitable work environment for all Team Members. Promote diversity in staffing.
  • Communication
  • Provide information to business partners in a timely and effective manner utilizing standard communication tools identified for all levels of the organization. Utilize HRIS system to ensure effective and appropriate reports are in place to analyze business needs and act proactively to impact change. Assist with quarterly department head meetings and other communication meetings as needed.
  • Compensation & Benefits
  • Act as a resource to business partners regarding compensation and benefit issues. Coach management on salary increase recommendations and new hires, promotions and other staffing changes. Promote benefit plans to Team Members as needed.
  • Team Member Recognition
  • Work with business partners to identify effective ways to recognize Team Members. Design strategies to improve morale while measuring and assessing the level of improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of State and Federal Employment Laws (i.e., EEO, FMLA, FLSA), recruiting, interviewing and/or counseling/coaching skills, training and presentation skills. Understanding of retail business helpful.

  • Ability to lead as well as champion change.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, decision making, development planning, performance gap analysis and conflict management skills.

  • High level of business/financial acumen.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in HR or related field; and
  • 5-7 years HR experience in key HR functional areas, with at least 3 years in significant management/leadership role (retail, distribution center or corporate experience preferred)
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position directly supervises 1 HR Manager

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

PHR or SPHR certification preferred.

The Sr. Facilities Engineer - Electrical is responsible for supporting and overseeing Integrated Facilities Management contract(s) and includes, but is not limited to: Security, Building & Grounds Maintenance, Site Utilities, and Power House functions, The individual acts as AstraZeneca's representative for Electrical Engineering and Maintenance regarding infrastructure services contracted directly with OSPs and through Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) providers, ensuring contracts and services are fit for purpose, and meet SHE, Security and Customer Service Level Agreements. The successful candidate will be responsible for electric power distribution and emergency generation, and other electrical systems on the Mount Vernon Site. These responsibilities include medium voltage switchgear, low voltage switchgear, substations, motor control centers, arc flash studies, AC variable frequency drives and motors, air handlers, uninterruptable power supplies and inverters, diesel powered generators and automatic transfer switches, chillers, indoor/outdoor lighting systems, emergency lighting, air compressors, water treatment facilities and boiler equipment, pumps, and ancillary control systems and SCADA systems for the aforementioned equipment. The candidate will support mechanical systems work at times. Job Responsibilities: * Provide day to day oversight and support to IFM/OSPs to ensure a positive, customer-focused work environment and ensure services comply with all AstraZeneca regulatory and Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) Policies, Standards, and Procedures. * Partner with IFM/OSP to ensure that all Site aesthetic and GMP standards are maintained. * Introduce innovative ideas, practices, and solutions towards services. * Maintain concise and accurate documentation/data for all contract agreements, including KPIs. * Support, manage, and monitor excerpt of the budgets for these contracts. * Assist in the preparation of scopes of work, specifications, and SOP's for new contracts, bid packages, and projects, ensuring alignment with other sites. * Participate on cross-site Continuous Improvement teams to determine appropriate KPI measures for evaluating and benchmarking contractor performance, identifies areas for improvement and collaborates with other US/Regional sites to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction. * Develop facility/utility equipment projects, review/develop design specifications and scopes of work, provide cost estimates for annual budget(s), develop project milestones, and review cost proposals. * Work successfully in an asset management team environment that supports production, reliability, infrastructure, and utility systems; maintain a rolling plan for all central utility/infrastructure assets. * Evaluate, develop, and support team execution of technical solutions for overall site energy consumption reduction goals. * Interface with various internal and external customers including Global Engineering, Operations, R&D, Central Utilities, Logistics, and Third-Party Management/Operations Identity. * Prepare, negotiate, and administer contracts for specialized facilities maintenance work including preparing budgets, overseeing execution, recommending contract change controls, preparing progress reports, and authorizing payments. * Perform other related duties as assigned. Responsible for improving electric power distribution and generation through the development and implementation of a predictive and preventive systems maintenance process. * Execute analytical and troubleshooting skills to address electrical systems issues. Conduct root cause analysis to improve system reliability. * Provide technical reliability direction to key stakeholders. * Develop and deploy methodology to monitor and reduce electrical system failures. * Serve as a subject matter expert for electrical standards and practices related to motors and drives. * Consult in the development of projects for improvements and expansions and support equipment repairs. * Support the technical development of electrical Specialists and Technicians. * Support the Facilities arc flash program. and be knowledgeable of NFPA 70E and 70B, NEC, and NESC, IEEE, and ANSI. * Develop job scopes for capital and maintenance electrical related engineering work to be executed. * Prepare project packages (print, loop sheet, specification sheets, operating instruction, schematic, wiring diagram revisions, spare parts needs, preventive maintenance requirements, etc) for electrical work to be executed. * Interface with the site's SAP MRO and Purchasing system. * Familiarity with electrical PM (Preventative Maintenance) procedures preparation. * Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with operation, technical, mechanical/electrical maintenance crafts people. * Excellent organizational and team building skills. Qualifications: Education: * Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or EE Technology. Required: * Minimum of 5 years experience in maintenance, engineering, or project management. * Experience with central utilities (boilers, chillers, compressed air, water supply, sewer discharge) and HVAC systems. * Experience with infrastructures including foundations, buildings, roofs, water processing, and plant operations. * Demonstrated ability to lead multi-functional teams. * Excellent written and oral communications skills. * Demonstrated ability to organize and implement projects that improve the operational effectiveness of a utility system. * Working knowledge of industrial and building trade practices, techniques, codes, and standards. * Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment and adapt to changing business needs. * Proficient in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project. Strong working knowledge of SAP. * Detailed knowledge of power generation and distribution equipment, transformers, switchgear, transmission feeders, substations, and motor control centers. * Familiarity with NEC, ISA, IEEE, NFPA 70E and 70B, NESC, OSHA 1910, and ANSI and other industrial/regulatory electrical/instrumentation codes and standards. Desirable: * Advanced technical degree or professional certification * Experience of working in a Lean environment * > 5 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry * Strong knowledge of GMPs.
