BriefDescription

TheSr. Human Resource Generalist promotes and supports positive, pro-activeemployee relations by providing and initiating a variety of employee services,activities and communication vehicles. Provides the employees and managementteam with valuable feedback through daily interactions, counseling, coaching,and reporting various personnel actions. Supports the supervisory andmanagement team in all functional areas of HR including employee relations,staffing, payroll, compensation and benefits, performance management, training,FMLA administration, regulatory compliance and labor relations to ensure theoperating unit's goals and objectives are achieved.

The Sr. HR Generalist is relied upon to understand business goals and interpretambiguous situations while consistently applying company policy and goodjudgment. At the same time, the Sr. HR Generalist must consider the legalimpact of decisions and minimize the potential negative financial risk.

Dutiesand Responsibilities

EmployeeRelations

  • Provides an"open door" policy for employees to communicate work relatedconcerns.

  • Counselsemployees and maintains positive employee relations.

  • Issues arerecognized and addressed at early stages, with appropriate level of managementintervention.

  • Acts as liaisonbetween employees and management team.

  • Conducts all exitinterviews and provide feedback to management with recommendations.

  • Monitors employeesatisfaction and attrition levels and assists developing strategies andemployee centered programs and activities to improve employee engagement andretention.

  • Line managementequipped with appropriate skills and tools to consistently apply companypolicies and enable open communication and employee satisfaction.

  • Employeesprovided with tools and information that foster open communication and employeesatisfaction.

The Sr. HumanResource Generalist is responsible for all HR related initiatives at the siteincluding but not limited to: coaching, leadership development, training, HRprocess deployment (performance ownership, performance improvement plans,compensation/benefits etc); payroll administration, etc.

KeyAccountabilities

  • Provide a broadrange of HR services in support of business objectives to include performanceownership, workforce planning, merit process, total associate engagement andorganizational change

  • Coaching/mentoringassociates at all levels of the organization

  • Support and leadprocesses for business group such as performance ownership, compensationplanning, staffing, disciplinary issues, community involvement, and associaterelations

  • Support Gear HRLeader in ensuring all associates are trained in the performance managementsystem.

  • Successionplanning and annual performance review process effectively implemented andtracked.

  • Assist Zurn HRLeader in ensuring that Supervisors and Managers are provided with guidance andtools to effectively deal with associate performance related issues.

  • Coordinatestaffing and recruiting activities across the plant for multiple functionspartnering with the Gear Sr. Talent Acquisition Specialist.

  • Candidates aretracked and monitored via online applicant tracking tool.

  • Candidatesourcing and interviewing for non-exempt or exempt regular and temporarypositions conducted in a cost effective and timely manner in collaboration withline management.

  • New hires obtaina high degree of successful performance in their roles

  • Short-termstaffing needs are met

  • Responsible forperforming HR portions of New Associate Orientation and communicating NewAssociate information to other departments within the business unit.

  • Work with the

Gear HR Leader to ensure compliance, and claim response in coordination with

Legal for EEOC, FMLA, Code of Conduct, Discrimination, Harassment and otherlegal/policy issues

  • FMLAadministration according to state and federal law and in line with Rexnordpolicy

  • AdministerAttendance Program fairly and consistently and recommend discipline whenappropriate.

  • Ensure recordretention guidelines are met in accordance with state and federal law as wellas industry guidelines.

  • Foster a cultureof safety awareness

  • Adds value toadministrative process by recommending policy enhancements and streamliningprocedures as opposed to maintaining status quo.

  • Updates andmaintains Associate Handbook

  • Ensuresconsistent interpretation and application of policies and procedures

  • Initiates processimprovement by analyzing current processes and recommending improvements toobtain greater efficiency, quality and customer satisfaction

  • Drive and deployprocedures and policies in all areas involving HR.

  • Partner with GearHR Leader for organization assessment and upgrading talent through strategicstaffing and developing pipeline talent.

  • Develops andimplements short/long term HR initiatives in support of the business' strategicobjectives.

  • Applies acomprehensive knowledge of human resource disciplines, principles, andpractices towards the completion of complex assignments/projects.

  • Proactivelypromotes and maintains a positive work environment and drives total associateengagement

  • Driveorganizational development activities that align with Rexnord Business Systems

  • Support, coachand develop site associates and departments on RBS and in driving root causeanalysis and identifying corrective actions

  • Partnering withEH&S, be an integral player in leading safety related initiatives includingsafety committee, compliance, record keeping, etc.

  • Compensation,Benefits and Payroll Administration

  • Benefitsprogram is communicated in effective manner and understood by associates;ensure associates are referred to Third Party Agencies where appropriate;encourage use of online tools and resources.

  • Participatein facilitation of Rexnord's annual open enrollment

  • AdministerSTD/LTD programs in accordance with Rexnord policy

  • New hires,associate changes in status and benefits changes are processed in a timelymanner with minimal errors.

  • Administerbi-weekly and weekly payroll processes; ensure payroll data is entered andprocessed in a timely manner with minimal errors.

  • Ensure that payand promotion decisions are tied to performance with consideration of internalequity.

JobRequirements

  • Bachelors Degreein Human Resources, Communications, Business or related field required

  • 5 yearsprogressive Human Resources Generalist experience

  • Proficiency inMicrosoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

  • Strongorganization and communication skills, ability to multi-task while payingattention to detail and working in a high volume, fast paced environment.

  • Individual mustdemonstrate integrity, flexibility, sound judgment, and strong intuitiveskills.

  • Demonstratedprofessional success in FMLA administration, benefits administration, payrolladministration, recruitment and associate relations.
