Position Summary:

The Sr. Human Resource Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior management in supporting designated geographic regions. The position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation and employment law compliance.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual.

  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems for human resources department.

  • Performs benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefits information to team members.

  • Handles employee relations counselling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing.

  • Resolve employee concerns and questions related to all health and welfare plans functioning as liaison with various insurance carriers and Jet Linx broker.

  • Administer New Hire Orientation for all new team members including timely and accurate benefit communication.

  • Assist with implementation and administration of the Jet Linx compensation program for all team members (i. participation in salary surveys and aging of survey data).

  • Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 annually; and maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.

  • Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.

  • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings, such as summits, stand downs, etc.

  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.

  • Respond to unemployment requests and coordinate overall process to minimize expenses to Jet Lin

  • Audit all training agreements to ensure appropriate conversations occur to collect any monies

  • Administer all Workmen's Compensation claims, short term disability, and any requests for leave.

  • Identify ongoing efficiencies to improve process of all programs

  • Other related duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of federal and state employment, labor, and benefit laws; HR expertise

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills; Excellent verbal and written skills

  • Strong ability to offer consultation to others within the organization

  • Proven track record of ethical practice

  • Global and cultural awareness

  • Relationship Management

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Competence in Microsoft Office Suite

Education & Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field

  • Eight to 10 years of Human Resources experience

  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • PHR and/or SPHR, certified benefits professional, certified compensation professional preferred but not required

Physical Requirements:

  • Majority of work is completed in a normal office work environment

  • Communicate through verbal, written and electronic means

  • Operate office equipment such as telephone, computer, printer, fax, postage meter, etc.

  • Move up to 25 pounds on an infrequent basis

  • Access filing cabinets, drawers and shelves of varying heights
