Job Summary:

The Sr. HR Generalist is to assist the HR Manager in partnering with specific functional areas of the Company, including Syracuse Operations and Manufacturing. Working collaboratively with the management of those areas to design, develop, and implement staffing initiatives to fill openings in a timely manner. The HR Generalist will be responsible for leading performance management initiatives and for providing employee relations support.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead all recruitment and new hire onboarding activities associated with applicable functional groups, including vendor management

  • Manage job boards and specialty databases

  • Support performance management and merit programs

  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to management to include coaching, career development, and corrective counselling

  • Consult management on employee relations issues

  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention

  • Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation to management and employees

  • Manage employee data through HRIS system, including data entry

  • Support employee benefits questions and serve as the subject matter expert for their functional group

  • Partner with payroll to resolve employee issues and questions as they arise

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience

  • Associates degree in Human Resources, prefer Bachelors

  • At least five (5) years of human resources experience; prior experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment is a plus

  • Prior use and proficiency utilizing an HRIS system

  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including organizational development, performance management, recruiting, and federal and state employment laws

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Must be self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail and adhering to deadlines

  • Proven ability to work effectively independently, with a focus on bringing projects to completion while demonstrating strategic thinking

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community

Applicants can expect a base compensation range of $70,000 - $85,000 annually, plus benefits and additional incentives based on the level of the role. This is the reasonable estimate that Belden believes it might pay for this job based on applicable circumstances at the time of posting. Belden may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law, and commensurate with the applicant's experience, qualifications, and geographical location.
