The Sr. Healthcare Financial Ops Analyst works with the Technical Solutions Design team, Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs) and other customers to identify, quantify, and act on opportunities for improving down-stream financial performance through changes in the laboratory and/or its service level. This newly-created, mission-critical position will be responsible for analyzing health system finances (P&L, Balance Sheet), in order to provide insight to both our health system Customers (areas of improvement), as well as Abbott's Sales Team.
Travel: 40% (USA only)
Position Impact to Business
The Sr. Healthcare Financial Ops Analyst, Health Economics Specialist strengthens Abbotts value proposition by showing the financial impact in the customers P&L tied to value created by Abbotts value proposition. The outcomes of his/her work encourage broader investment in laboratory medicine by demonstrating the financial viability of such investments to C-Suite executives and other key stakeholders.
Key Success Factors
Ability to assess hospital operations and P&L to identify improvement opportunities.
Understanding of payer models including Diagnosis-related groups (DRG), private bundled payments, and approval/denial processes.
Ability to create financial models that inform the creation of total solution proposals and successfully inform decision making at customer level.
Ideal / Preferred Experience, etc.:
5 (+) years' experience analyzing hospital financial operations.
Previous experience as hospital CFO and/or senior hospital financial operations analyst.
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting.
5 years healthcare finance or health economics and/or outcomes research (HEOR) experience.
1 year of experience analyzing hospital financial operations.
