What will you help us create?

The Role:

The Sr. Hardware Engineer - will be a member of the hardware team with responsibilities for the test and all signals on our product boards. This role in particular will be responsible for being the team expert for all voltage regulation and delivery technologies. In this role, you will:

  • Perform hands on measurements related to voltage regulators, delivery, and sequencing

  • Root Cause and correct -related issues in our electrical systems

  • Tune custom circuits

  • Develop and improve test processes for the team as a whole

  • Propose improvements to test equipment which allow better test coverage

  • Work with broader teams (design, architecture, etc) to improve the way we select and implement our -related components.

VIEW JOBS 2/18/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-05-18T00:00 POSITION SUMMARY: Cepheid Consumables Engineering Team is seeking a Senior Consumables Validation Technician who will apply their experience within Consumables Validation to ensure that products meet pre-determined specifications and consistently meet requirements of the highest quality. The successful candidate must be able to assist the Consumables Engineering Team in executing and summarizing validation activities of consumables for the medical device industry. They will actively support qualifications of new and existing consumables parts used in Production. This is a hands-on position involving: routine testing; test data collection, organization, and documentation; part inspection; and failure investigations. There are no direct reports to this position. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: * This position entails a high level of organization, excellent communication skills, and rigorous process discipline and documentation to assure functionality, safety, reliability and quality of the product * Maintains sustainability of new and existing consumables parts in production by assisting in validation activities * Performs validation activities per validation protocol requirements * Performs and coordinates testing, inspections, and activities as they relate to consumables parts validation * Collects, organizes, and documents validation test data * Ensures accurate records of all validation activities * Assists in troubleshooting issues identified by Consumables Engineering Team * Assists in failure investigations and root cause analyses as they relate to consumables parts validation * Enforces high standards for all consumables products such that the design intent, quality expectation for patient safety, and finished medical device function are never compromised * Prioritizes and manages multiple, concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment TRAINING RESPONSIBILITIES: * Complete all assigned and required training satisfactorily and on time MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education and Experience (in years): * BS in Engineering (or equivalent) with 0 – 1 year of related work experience OR * BS in Non-Engineering with 1 – 2 years of related work experience OR * AA or Technical Trade Degree with 3+ years of related work experience * Experience with executing procedures, work instructions, or protocols Knowledge and Skills: * Read, analyze and interpret technical documents and procedures * Routinely perform part testing and verify results * Inspect and identify part defects * Collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions * Ability to exercise judgment, based on previous experience, practices and precedents, to identify and assist with problem solving * Excellent verbal and written communication skills; exchange ideas and information effectively * Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from various cross-functional groups * Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations * Knowledge of Microsoft Office computer programs Physical requirements/abilities: * Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
