Essential Responsibilities:

Working alongside some of the world's most talented engineers, you will be responsible for taking the technical lead on Value Engineering & Component Engineering projects, delivering innovative cost-reduction solutions to the Resideo portfolio. Using your Hardware Design Engineering skills to analyze and develop Analog/Digital/Wireless communication capabilities within Resideo. You will rely on your experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, being instrumental in enabling Resideo to evolve faster than our competitors. By providing technology uplift solutions to legacy devices, you will mitigate future component obsolescence and legislative risks delivering customer satisfaction and margin growth to strengthen Resideo's position as a global market leader.

Accelerate innovation by taking on challenging assignments requiring close collaboration with global R&D, Engineering and Supply Chain teams. Engage with third party vendors such as design consultancies, ODM and EMS suppliers to deliver projects. Engage with component manufacturers and distributors to deliver lower cost alternate technical solutions. Maintain an expert level of product knowledge and application.Evaluate and manage relationships with solution suppliers & manufacturers. Creation of project charters and SoW specifications for VE programs. Design, develop, fabricate and test prototypes (Design Validation). Support Production Engineering, Quality and ISC in production related needs (Production Validation). Use and apply Wireless, Digital, Power and Analog design techniques and principles. Provide support to the wider VE & CE organization and have critical design review input at design-to-cost reviews of NPI programs

Job Duties:

  • Design and build custom product and applications solutions

  • Develop network technology

  • Monitor and analyze statistical data

  • Validate wireless performance, quality and reliability

  • Develop alternative design & component substitution solutions to drive direct material and other COGS reductions

  • Maintain systems and equipment

  • Mentoring

  • Strategy development

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering

  • Proven experience in delivering cost effective projects on time and within budget

  • A minimum of 4 years' experience in HW Design Engineering

  • Hardware block diagram design and development skills

  • Working Experience of HW design & simulation tools (e.g. Mentor Graphics)

  • Experience with communications technologies (e.g. Cellular, WiFi, Bluetooth, Zigbee)

  • Experience with antenna design and simulation

  • Working Experience of EMC design and testing
