As we grow, we are seeking an experienced Senior GIS Systems Analyst with strong GIS technical expertise to support clients on best practices for implementing GIS enterprise platform solutions and to help clients realize their vision and drive toward their goals. This position should be considered a nationwide position and could report to one of our 27 offices.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a thought leader. Advise clients regarding innovative solutions using GIS technology and content to help them make better decisions. Recommend relevant strategies, architectures, and solutions and work with customers to prepare implementation and migration strategies.

  • Understand our clients and know their business. Understand how GIS technology can help our clients be more successful in getting a return on the use of GIS technology. Be familiar with key business processes within organizations, including aviation, government, and transportation industries.

  • Enable our customers to be successful. Work closely with customers to identify, design, and certify key GIS workflows for the enterprise systems. Provide configuration guidance and best practices to customers and understand how new technology enables the customer's stated vision. Collaborate with customer IT organizations to align their technical objectives and business goals with various GIS software.

  • Develop and grow business. Provide business development support toward technology and implementation patterns with new and existing customers. Collaborate with Woolpert's teams to develop new business and be part of actively shaping the future of GIS Technology products and cutting-edge spatial technology.

  • Provide enterprise hardware architecture for GIS infrastructure, ESRI ArcGIS enterprise administration, and Windows server system administration. Responsible for determining user and system demands and planning and monitoring work involved in providing reliable and efficient delivery of GIS services and applications.

  • Evaluates system status and resource utilization and implements changes to improve efficiency, reliability, and disaster recovery.

  • Generate a request for hardware requirements based on the user's needs and other constraints such as cost and schedule. Perform cost-benefit analyses to determine the best methods or approaches for meeting the hardware requirements; making maximum use of commercial off-the-shelf or already developed components.

  • Provide consultation, training, and resolutions for database management issues. Support operational environment for enterprise database management systems including evaluation, installation and maintenance of products to support this environment. Ensure ESRI application services are available and functioning through monitoring and maintaining services; troubleshoot and resolve ESRI application service issues. Provide optimization and tuning support for GIS applications to maximize performance.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills, systems troubleshooting, fault isolation/diagnosis and the ability to read, comprehend and follow technical data.

  • Must be willing to travel to clients, conferences and other Woolpert offices.

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field or a minimum of 10+ years' of related work experience and certification as a GISP.

  • Experience with Asset management Systems desired but not required.

  • Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed environme

This position involves working in a team environment with responsibilities in all phases of Systems Engineering development including concept development, proposal writing, requirements, functional analysis, design reviews, implementation, test, verification and validation. The Senior Principal Systems Engineer must leverage multiple skill sets in areas such as Defense Avionics, Missile Systems, Radar and RF applications, Structures, embedded computing and networking. Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Level security clearance.
