We have an exciting opportunity to join our San Diego Development Studios team here at Sony Computer Entertainment of America, PlayStation! We seek a Senior Graphics Programmer highly proficient with C++ and graphics to develop and optimize our MLB - The Show product line for the PS4.

Responsibilities:

  • Learn and maintain existing graphics runtime code

  • Learn and maintain existing graphics tools

  • Build and maintain new graphics runtime code

  • Build and maintain new graphics tools

  • Research and experiment with new implementation techniques

Requirements:

  • Min. 6 years' programming experience with at least 3 years' working within the game (or related) industry

  • Min. 3 years' experience in graphics programming

  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience

  • Strength in C/C++

  • Strength in 3D Graphics APIs and math

  • Experience with modern rendering techniques and engine-related issues

  • Experience in one/multiple of GNM (PS4), DX11/12/Vulkan (Xbox/PC), NVN (Switch)

  • Ability to write efficient/compact code for game consoles with limited resources

  • Design and implementation of modular and easily extensible solutions

  • Strong communication ability

Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments. Reports to the Manager or Supervisor of Business Systems. Works with system users, user management and IT personnel to provide business analysis and information system implementations that support the business goals. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES * Participate in and support of MAC-PAC Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Earned Value Management, Purchasing and Accounts Payable systems and processes and their interaction with SAP FICO, Kronos Workforce AutoTime (Timekeeping) and EDI Systems. * Assist in the management of those systems as part of the Business Systems management portfolio. * Analyzes a complete system's architecture to determine most efficient use of its resource. * Analyzes alternatives in terms of tangible and intangible factors and the long-range objectives of the system; assesses and presents benefits derived from implementation. * Design, configure and test programs, and software modules. * Contributes to the refinement of IT standards. * Assesses, determines, and estimates resource requirements for a complex system having varying resource components, and presents benefits derived from the implementation of the system. * Recommends optimum usage of available resources (people and machines) with minimum assistance. * Analyzes user problems and makes recommendations fitting within NASSCO's framework (current and future). * Develops project plan for a complex system, and manages the development effort to deliver the system within established dates. * Defines and resolves problems relating to job performance. * Anticipates performance and long-range impact of system decisions. * Participates in ongoing project decisions as well as medium and long-range system strategy decisions. * Assist with development of complex system requirements for user and IT management approval. * Conduct studies of moderate difficulty to determine feasibility of implementing user requirements considering user and information systems environment. * Conducts reviews of system implementation plans with appropriate personnel. Conduct user training. * Understanding and adherence to Release and Change management processes. * Additional responsibilities and duties as assigned. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS * A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology preferred or equivalent experience/education. * 10 years business experience, preferably in Information Technology. * 10+ years related experience designing and implementing Mainframe based systems utilizing TSO/ISPF, COBOL, IMS DB/DC, MFS, DL/I, JCL, Panvalet, Abend Aid, File-aid * Familiar with LRS AnyQueue and Java programming is a plus. * Demands a thorough knowledge of manufacturing business systems and functional requirements analysis. * Very strong communication skills both orally and in writing. * Demonstrates leadership abilities. * In-depth understanding of users' environment. Familiarity with government regulations. * Ability to write long or complex material containing factual and significant qualitative or abstract information including alternatives, justification, and recommendations where appropriate. * Ability to work effectively with various groups in developing solutions to problems. * Ability to review and optimize a system. Ability to analyze and develop new systems. Ability to analyze software packages against requirements. * Actively participates in implementing and monitoring continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, improve quality, reduce cycle time, and reduce costs.
