Description

We are looking for experienced full-stack engineers who want to work on cutting-edge web technologies to help us build the future of the product discovery experience. We are reinventing our internal tools through metrics, machine learning, automation, and user centered design for our client. We have autonomy and flexibility on our tech stack, which has allowed us to adopt new industry trends like React, Redux, scss, and GraphQL. Our new solutions will empower our client to spot opportunities and to immediately improve the knowledge graph. We need great engineers to design and build an efficient and delightful User Experience, while pushing forward the state-of-the-art for our clients internal tooling.

As a Sr. Full-Stack Development Engineer, you will work with engineers, data scientists and business teams to build elegant solutions to address the unique challenges related to global, online product discovery. You will work on leveraging great UX design, large scale back-end systems, analytics, and machine learning. You will have the opportunity to lead high impact, technically challenging projects that will influence the technical strategy of the whole organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or 4+ additional years work experience)
  • 4+ years relevant professional development experience
  • Strong Computer Science fundamentals in data structures, algorithm design, and problem solving
  • Skilled in developing rich applications with HTML, CSS, Python, JavaScript
  • Proficiency in developing front-end software, with deep experience in one or more relevant front-end frameworks (React, Angular, etc.)
  • Strong customer focus, ownership, urgency and drive Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with React and GraphQL
  • Proficiency in Python, Java, git, and building software on the AWS platform
  • Experience building and operating online services and fault-tolerant distributed systems
  • Excellent leadership, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work well in a team
  • Experience working in an agile software development organization
  • Strong Experience of Python and one or more scripting language (Java, Perl)
  • Experience building on AWS using S3, EC2, Redshift, Aurora, Lambda, QuickSight, etc.
  • Delivered one or more production web applications (500+ users) using a modern Python/ JavaScript framework
  • Experience using software version control tools (Git, Jenkins, Apache Subversion, Mercurial)
  • Experience in setting up application monitoring solutions (ELK, CloudWatch, Kinesis Analytics, etc.)
  • Experience with big data technologies (Spark, Hbase, HIVE, PIG)
  • Experience in database design (normalization and de-normalization), SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Ability to handle multiple, competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excited about technology, have a strong interest in learning about and playing with the latest technologies and building compelling web applications
  • Work well in teams, respecting ideas from teammates, business partners, and technical experts
  • Strong customer focus, ownership, and drive to get things done
  • Experience with web technologies and techniques (HTML5, CSS, AJAX)
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering software projects using Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for full stack software development life cycle; including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, monitoring and operations

Additional qualifications:

  • AWS certifications or other related professional technical certifications
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, and an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
