Your Role

Serve as a member of a multi-disciplinary product team that focuses on one part of the customer experience envisioning, designing, developing, and delivering customer-facing commerce and engagement experiences

Responsible for large, complex projects that have a direct business impact

Use your expertise in writing and testing valid, web standards-based HTML, CSS, and Javascript to deliver world-class customer experiences

Act as a mentor to more junior members of the development team by sharing your master-level knowledge of fundamentals of computer science such as object-oriented programming, data structures, design patterns, algorithms, and code optimization.

Your Impact

• Expert in Web Standards, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

• Strong background in front-end web development with both technical and visual expertise

• Experience with the following standards and technologies is essential: ReactDOM, JSON, AJAX, HTML5, Git

• Deep knowledge of and discipline in the application of Web development best practices

• Experience with agile methodologies and supporting practices, tools, and technology

• Experience with automated testing, continuous integration & deployment, and supporting tools and technologies

• Web presentation-layer ("UI") expert who bridges the creative and technical aspects of website creation and delivery

• Knowledge of WCAG 2.0 AA is a plus

Responsibilities

• Develop reusable, maintainable, accessible cross-platform HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for front-end web application components while adhering to web and team standards

• Working in a Continuous Integration paradigm develops with testing in mind; authors unit tests to provide sufficient testing coverage for each developed component

• Write unit tests to provide sufficient testing coverage for each developed component

• Continually review and improve the front-end performance of the web application

• Work with creative and business partners to understand, build, and adjust web application functionality and visual presentation to support business goals

• Work with server-side, infrastructure, and 3rd party technology partners to build, integrate, and deploy web application functionality and visual presentation to support business goals

• Work with the project technical lead and/or front-end architect to create technical designs and implementation plans

• Work with front-end leads and architects to evolve and advance the state of the front-end technology stack

• Assist and mentor teammates in areas of tech design, implementation, and domain expertise

• Ensure accuracy and attention to detail throughout the development process

Minimum Salary: $95,000.00

Maximum Salary: $129,465.00

VS&Co provides a range of compensation for this role as shown. Your actual salary will be determined by a number of factors, including: your specific skills and experience, geographic region, or other relevant factors.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of practical front-end web development experience

• Experience providing technical leadership to developers organized into product teams using Agile methodologies

• Experience working for retail brands or other environments with very high standards for the presentation layer is a plus

• E-commerce experience preferred

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant experience
