SR. FPGA/ASIC VERIFICATION ENGINEER

We are looking for a verification engineer to help us verify the next generation silicon for our satellite products. The work will include block and system level pre-silicon verification projects using state-of-the-art tools and methodologies. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on self-starter who can execute the steps required to fully verify a complex digital design.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for digital ASIC and/or FPGA verification at block and system level

  • Write and review test plans, develop test harnesses (UVM, System Verilog based) and test sequences

  • Responsible for test plan execution, running regressions, code and functional coverage closure

  • Contribute towards pre-silicon verification, chip bring-up and post-silicon validation

  • Lead multiple projects and mentor junior engineers

  • Hands-on self-starter who can execute the steps required to fully verify a complex digital design

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering
  • 8+ years of experience in ASIC/FPGA design verification using System Verilog and/or C++

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Master's degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering

  • Experience with verification methodologies such as UVM/OVM/VMM

  • Strong object-oriented programming knowledge

  • Constrained random verification experience

  • Expertise in developing test plans, defining/implementing coverage models, and analyzing results

  • Experience creating scalable verification environments

  • Ability to write scripts (bash/csh, Python, Perl, TCL, etc.) and test automations

  • Exposure with industry standard verification tools: simulators (Questa, VCS, IES), code coverage tools, debug tools (Verdi, Visualizer), bug tracking tools etc.

  • Experience with dynamic simulation and/or formal based verification methodologies

  • Any RTL design, chip bring-up, post-silicon validation experience

  • Exposure to packet based protocols (PCIe, Ethernet), or wireless protocols (LTE, Wi-Fi), or DSP algorithms

  • Familiarity with testing complex designs, code and functional coverage, and assertions

  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing needs and requirements

FPGA ENGINEER (STARLINK) RESPONSIBILITIES: * Port ASIC functional blocks to FPGA-based emulation platforms. This includes Verilog wrapper creation and maintenance, Xilinx implementation, timing and area analysis and feedback to ASIC engineers * Work in labs to test and debug emulated designs * Debug logic problems as well as RF interconnection issues * Run system tests and analyze failures and abnormal performance * Assemble and build new test hardware configurations * Maintain existing hardware, including hardware, software, and RF debug BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering or physics * 7+ years of professional experience * Experience in the emulation and verification phase of ASIC design PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: * Fluent in Verilog and familiar with SystemVerilog * Familiar with the FPGA implementation process, including place and route, timing analysis, and area analysis * Capable of analyzing FPGA implementation and providing feedback to ASIC engineers (Xilinx preferred) * Strong hands-on debug skills, including familiarity with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers * Familiar with Linux operating systems, and scripting languages such as python (familiarity with C++ a plus) * Ability to read schematics and debug PCBs with digital logic and RF circuitry * Ability to perform small scale rework on fine pitch surface mount PCBs * Ability to perform schematic capture for circuit boards * Knowledge of basic DSP algorithms and implementation techniques * Familiar with modulation techniques including OFDM ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: * Willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed ITAR REQUIREMENTS: * To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
