Position Description

Responsible for developing and maintaining analytical tools and models for forecasting purposes, and provide timely and accurate forecasts for business operations and risk management

Job Responsibilities

  • Practice strong analytical skill to interpret data to produce meaningful forecast

  • Identify relationships and trends in data and any factors that may affect the results of research

  • Report results of statistical analyses, including information in the form of graphs, charts, and tables

  • Research historical data to map trends and determine how they will influence the business

  • Write SAS code to perform complex data extraction from multiple, large data sources as well as complex data aggregation, cleaning, and quality checking

  • Leverage SAS macros and other tools to automate daily and monthly data processes

  • Communicate forecast results to users and stakeholders

  • Proactively engage in projects to provide data thought leadership

  • Perform special projects/assignments as needed

  • Develop financial or business plans

  • Coach/mentor and develop junior analysts



  • 5+ years experience in statistical/mathematical modeling/analysis

  • 5+ years performing complex data extraction from multiple, large data sources

  • 5+ years performing complex data aggregation, cleaning, and quality checking

  • 5+ years programming in SAS and using associated tools (E.G., macros, etc.)

  • Experience developing and maintaining automated data processes and structures

  • Software applications or programming to use for statistical modeling and graphic analysis

  • SAS Base Certified Programmer or equivalent

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables and visuals

  • Knowledge of Oracle and SQL Server databases

  • Flexible attitude, ability to perform under pressure

  • Ability to achieve balance between the right technical and business solution

  • Ability to translate complex technical information into simple terms

  • Experience in Regression, logistic regression, time series model, vintage model, roll rate base model

In support of the Commercial Business Segment, the Senior Financial Analyst for the Coil Coating Division develops, prepares, and maintains statistical and monetary analytical reports with significant focus around volume, revenue, cost, profitability, incentive compensation programs, inventory, and other key metrics. The Senior Financial Analyst communicates with sales, operations, and division management on a routine basis concerning key operational metrics. Job Description: * Provide the Coil Coating leadership team with timely, high quality and accurate financial information and advice. * Prepare weekly, monthly and annual budgets and forecasts for approval and provide clear and concise explanations of variances to actual performance. * Ability to manipulate and analyze large transactional data sets, interpret and summarize the data for metrics reporting and business insights highlighting trends and anomalies to management. * Lead preparation of weekly, monthly and quarterly business review presentations to Executive Management * Assist in the development and execution of divisional strategic initiatives. * Assist in effort to obtain meaningful and accurate pricing and costing information. * Lead cost improvement initiatives and identification of improvement opportunities (including Benchmarking analysis, product profitability). * Ensure appropriate internal controls in place to protect business assets. * Assist with business cases for capital expenditure and outsourcing projects for approval by Coil Coating President. * Assist in development and maintenance of financial reports in accounting system. * While this position does not have specific general ledger or cost accounting responsibilities during month-end close, it does have responsibility to monitor financial results and estimates during closing and identifies issues or errors to assist corporate accounting team. * Assist in development and implementation of change management activities related to system implementations.
