Sr Fire Alarm Install Specialist

Leads successful on-site installation of fire alarm equipment and systems without direct supervision. You will follow detailed work instructions and amend any outdated or incorrect instructions with help of Engineering teams. You will make improvements to training guides and documentation. You will lead continuous improvement initiatives in the field to quickly fix any administrative difficulties relating to delivery and installation of proper equipment. You will train the customer on proper usage, troubleshooting, and basic repair procedures for complex equipment.

  • Verify system functional performance to ensure proper operations per contract requirements including: testing, calibrating verify system and peripheral device operations as per preventative maintenance schedule.

  • Diagnose and repair faults in fire alarm and integrated software equipment for commercial systems.

  • Complete documentation of all work done, including all readings, offsets, etc.

  • Perform system backups, install appropriate updates and patches.

  • Maintain customer system documentation with any configuration or model changes.

  • Keep abreast of changes and new developments in product and preventive maintenance techniques.

  • Availability for and performance of duties outside of normal working hours as required.

Customer Management:

  • Promote, build and maintain good customer relations.

  • Keep Supervisor informed of customer requirements, systems status, and actual, potential or perceived customer problems.

  • Demonstrate system and provide training to customers as required.

  • Be aware of contract scope of installation and requirements.

Health and Safety:

  • Carry out site hazard and risk assessments for Honeywell tasks, including proper use of safety personal protective equipment.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for Honeywell's assets such as tools, software, and site database.

  • Keep documentation and paperwork up-to-date.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to travel with occasional overnight stays.

  • Ability to obtain a Seattle FA1 Card within 6 months of hire.
    35 Inspect for Quality 35 Install or Repair Work Orders 30 Provide Customer Support


  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Valid Driver's License.

  • Ability to obtain NICET II Certification within 6 months of hire.


  • Knowledge of fire and security systems for hospitals/schools/manufacturing environments.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Previous technical/installation experience.

  • Previous customer service experience.

  • Good written and oral communication.

  • Ability to follow instructions and identify mistakes.

  • Bachelor's Degree or technical/professional certificate.

  • Good presentation skills.

Utilizes advanced skills to perform complex preventive maintenance and corrective repair of buildings, industrial systems, vehicles, equipment and grounds. Working under limited supervision, monitors building system operations and performance. Utilizes several trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating and cooling. AS Scope: Typically supports properties of .5 million to 1.2 million sq. ft... ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Complies with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and Company directives related to building operations and work safety. Leads shift operations, assigns work orders, and/or provides technical and procedural training of coworkers and subcontractors. Arranges for subcontractors as needed. Reviews monthly tenant service request summaries to pinpoint and correct recurrent operational problems. Oversees and inspects the work performed by engineering staff. Determines that work is complete, equipment is fully functional and client space is in prime working condition. Formulates and implements a preventive maintenance program to ensure that building machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated life. Inspects building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by client. Reviews assigned work orders. Estimates time and materials needed to complete repair. Maintains inventory of adequate supplies and tools and orders necessary materials to complete all tasks. Consults with clients to schedule preventive maintenance and other downtime to minimize business interruption and inconvenience. Performs assigned repairs, emergency and preventive maintenance. Completes maintenance and repair records as required. Responds quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. Provides informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to coworkers. Coordinates and assigns tasks to co-workers within a work unit and/or project. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
