Position Description

Responsibilities

  • Prepare relevant analysis for the creation of monthly and quarterly analytics packages provided to Senior management

  • Participate in the development/enhancement and maintenance of Service Center reporting packages

  • Participate in the development/enhancement and maintenance of management reporting packages that meets the needs of the intended audience (CFO's)

  • Participate in the development/enhancement and maintenance of integrated reporting packages that meets the needs of the intended audience

  • Participate in the monthly global accounting close ensuring completeness and accuracy of financial statements for relevant line of business or accounting service center

  • Prepare analysis for relevant line of business or accounting service center of monthly financial results and summarize in financial analytics package presented to executive management

  • Review and analyze monthly reporting package to be prepared by accounting operations to assist in preparation of financial analytics package

  • Provide assistance to Technical Accounting and SEC Reporting as applicable

  • Participate in global financial and accounting process improvement initiatives

Position Requirements

Experience

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business

  • At least 5 years of progressive experience

  • Hands-on financial reporting experience in a global company

  • Excellent knowledge of US GAAP, FASB pronouncements and SEC rules and regulations preferred

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, a high level of attention to details and the ability to work in a productive environment with multiple priorities

  • Experience with Hyperion, Oracle and Blackline preferred

VIEW JOBS 12/5/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-05T00:00 Location: National Harbor, Maryland Reporting to the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis, the Senior Analyst will be responsible for financial analysis, reporting, and project management. The Senior Analyst will work extensively with budgets, models, and databases to support the various lines of business. All duties are performed in accordance with departmental and MGM Resorts policies, practices, and procedures as well as within the framework and intent of the MGM Resorts Mission Statement. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: * Monitor and evaluate monthly results to ensure financial objectives are being met in order to maximize potential financial return and meet company objectives. * Perform labor and staffing analysis * Own monthly operational analysis reports supporting the lines of business – Casino, Restaurant, Hotel, etc. * Helps support implementation of key programs, systems, and processes through analysis and research * Perform analyses and create models (to include ROI, NPV, etc.) to support executive management in making operational and/or financial decisions. * Prepare ad hoc and recurring reports, graphs, and metrics for property departments, identify areas for improvement and works with property departments to implement practices to meet departmental financial objectives. * Work with dedicated Finance representatives from other company departments as needed. * Prepares presentations for upper management on a routine basis * Forecast revenues and expenses for company budget through analysis of business operations and trends * Other job related duties as requested This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee in this position. Preferred: * Experience using Financial Databases such as Cognos Finance or Hyperion * Experience with SQL * Experience with Data Analytics and Visualization software such as Tableau or MicroStrategy * Experience using a scripting language such as VBA or Python or willingness to learn CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: * Maryland Gaming License * Proof of eligibility to work in the United States KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: * Must possess strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, project management and problem solving skills with excellent oral and written communication to effectively deal with internal and external contacts. * Strong ability to analyze and work with statistical data * Strong leadership ability and a desire to learn * Maintain an organized and successful operation by proactively identifying the need for change. * Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, database, and analytical and financial systems.
