POSITION TITLE:

Senior Financial Analyst Licensing Finance

Your impact:

Our Licensing Finance team is seeking a bright, Senior Financial Analyst to join the team based at Mattel's headquarters in El Segundo, CA. This position reports to a Sr. Manager.

  • Oversee the North America Consumer Products quarterly forecasting processes and prepare financial summaries by brand, category and licensee

  • Work effectively with the business teams to develop the annual operating plan & budgets

  • Effectively communicate the business performance against the plan and forecasts

  • Make recommendations to drive growth, improve profitability and streamline processes

  • Represent the Finance point-of-view at cross-functional meetings with business units such as Marketing, Sales, Legal, Finance, etc.

  • Work with the Sr. Finance Manager and Category teams during licensee contract negotiations to ensure the best financial terms possible

  • Maintain on-going relationships with the business partners to understand the state of the business, the major changes and the key factors that impact the business

  • Support any other ad-hoc financial and strategic analysis related to key business unit initiatives.

Experience, Education & Skills You have:

  • Strong relationship building skills and ability to communicate with all levels of professionals

  • High proficiency in Excel, especially pivot tables and VLOOKUPs

  • Comfortable working with large amounts of data

  • Extremely detailed oriented and accurate with numbers

  • PowerPoint or other graphics presentation capability preferred

  • Interest in Brand and Entertainment licensing

  • Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast paced and complex environment with tight deadlines

Preferred Experience and Required Skills

  • BS/BA required (Finance, Accounting, Economics preferred); MBA or CPA Preferred

  • Experience working with licensing contracts and understanding out-licensing terminology

  • 2 5 years of finance experience in CPG, Entertainment of Manufacturing environment

  • Proficiency with VBA, Access, Tableau and Think-Cell a plus

  • Oracle GL/Project Accounting and Hyperion Enterprise/Essbase experience preferred

  • Proactive, high energy and detail/results-oriented

Skills, Education and Experience: * Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent experience. * 8+ years of extensive financial analyses and data management knowledge - prior experience in the commercial real estate industry required. * Extensive experience with developing financial models, cash flows, NPV & IRR analysis and capital planning. * Proficiency with PC applications such as Microsoft Excel and Word with strong financial modeling skills. * Experience with computerized accounting systems a plus. * Strong consulting, oral, written, presentation and facilitation skills. * Ability to work in a complex team environment across multiple departments. * Ability to work under minimum supervision and manage tight deadlines.
