Work for an excellent, experienced CFO and Finance Director, both devoted to training and developing their staff 403b match 9/80 work schedule Job Details JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Director of FPR&A and CFO, the Financial Analyst will assist in the development of the annual operating budget and monitoring of government and privately funded programs to ensure fiscal contract compliance.

This position serves as lead business partner to assigned program and/or administrative departments, providing actionable analyses in order to optimize agency funding and ensure sound fiscal decision making and compliance. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: 1. Build/expand financial reporting capabilities and provide Executive Leadership with key insights about agency performance/trends to help drive business decisions. 2.

Responsible for full-cycle finance functions for assigned projects and programs. Serve as lead and advisor to project and program/department owners. This position manages tight deadlines and a multitude of finance activities including contract/grant reporting, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation, and the support of budget and forecast activities. 3.

Manage assigned contracts, grants, and/or fiscal sponsor relationships, which includes preparing monthly financial statements and/or invoices with supporting documentation, comparing expenses to contracted budgeted amounts for accuracy and variances within contract terms, and answering inquiries made by contract/grant managers and other personnel. 4. Serve as principal liaison between Finance and assigned cost centers, programs, and/or projects to monitor fiscal progress against grant budgets, provide insights and variance analysis, and prepare budget modifications. 5. Complete and review cost allocations of staff for assigned projects, grants, and contracts and provides recommendations as necessary. 6.

Conduct revenue recognition and accounts receivable reconciliation of assigned projects, ensuring proper documentation and compliance. 7. Responsible for submitting month-end billing summaries & reimbursement requests to government and private funding sources. 8. Support program leadership and fund development team with proposed budgets for grant applications and contract renewals. 9.

Prepare periodic expenditure reports due to government agencies and foundations. 10. Collaborate with and present to agency leadership and staff (and possibly external stakeholders) regarding programmatic performance and trends (fiscal, FTE, census, etc.) to ensure alignment to target. 11. Assist with month-end close, which includes allocation of expenditures to contracts and administrative cost centers, reconciling grants receivables (in collaboration with Accountant), and updating revenue and expense roll forward schedules. 12.

Perform periodic review of backup documents for all invoices submitted to funders to ensure controls are in place and agency is not at risk of audit findings. 13. Serve as subject matter expert for fiscal portion of program contracts and train agency staff as needed on fiscal procedures and best practices. 14. Assist the Finance leadership team with development of ad-hoc and recurring financial reports and/or financial dashboards. 15.

Assist/collaborate with Finance and Accounting team on various finance and accounting-related tasks and/or projects. 16.

Assist as needed with preparing adjusting journal entries to general ledger. 17. Other duties as assigned and ad-hoc projects as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting and three (3) years of relevant work experience with government contracts and grants preferred, or Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting and six (6) years of relevant work experience with government contracts and grants. 2. Must have budgeting experience as it relates to budget preparation, reporting, monitoring, and allocation of shared cost. 3.

Non-profit and healthcare experience preferred. 4. Grant and/or fund accounting experience preferred. 5. Ability to interpret and apply accounting theory to transactions. 6.

Ability to work accurately with numerical detail and create useful management reports. 7. Strong analytical skills. 8. Strong written and verbal communications skills. 9.
