A DAY IN THE LIFE:

The Sr Financial Analyst is a key member of the financial planning and analysis team driving the development and maintenance of an effective financial planning, reporting, and analysis process. They are responsible for generating meaningful reporting and analytics and effectively communicate those findings across all levels of the organization to drive strong financial decision making. They will also provide insight and analysis across the P&L from revenue through profit while understanding the revenue and expense drivers across the business. A successful candidate will have a strong business acumen, deep financial expertise, and solid communication skills that are necessary to become an effective partner within the organization.

This role will be supporting our Commercial functions (Sales, Marketing, Customer Care, etc.) and any role-specific items are indicated in parenthesis below. We are also hiring for our Administrations groups (Legal, IT, HR, Payroll, Facilities, etc.) which you can also apply for here.

  • (Commercial Specific) Partnering with commercial functions to understand and impact revenue, profitability and commercial execution strategies. This includes understanding the drivers of territory performance, competitive positioning and go-to market strategies.

  • Serve as a strategic finance partner for the assigned business functions. Influence business leaders through the analysis of existing KPI metrics and development of new financial analyses to drive sound financial decisions and accountability.

  • Partner with Department owners to drive the monthly and annual forecast and budget process for headcount and operating expenses.

  • Serve as a key partner on the FP&A team in supporting and maintaining the financial planning and forecasting software.

  • Support the production of monthly and quarterly presentations for the Board of Directors and top management including the CEO, CFO, EVPs, and Vice Presidents.

  • Closely monitor forecast vs actuals and provide insightful financial analysis to target areas for improvement.

  • Partner with budget owners to identify and drive cost savings initiatives.

  • Engage with business leaders to develop the annual budget, pressure test budget requests using productivity metrics, ROI and other analyses as needed.

  • Partner with business leaders to develop deliverables in support of Tandem's annual strategic planning process.

  • Perform variance analysis on headcount, spending, and assumptions against prior forecast, and drive monthly business review and quarterly forecast process with business leaders.

  • Partner with business leaders and Human Resources to manage the headcount approval process.

  • Drive continuous improvement in forecasting, reporting deliverables and processes.

YOU'RE AWESOME AT:

  • (Commercial Specific) Strong knowledge, understanding and experience with business intelligence dashboarding tools and SQL. Power BI with database structures will be utilized in this role.

  • High level of intellectual curiosity.

  • Ability to think strategically and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to independently work with large data sets and draw appropriate & useful business conclusions.

  • Advanced knowledge of financial reporting, forecasting, and planning applications, preferred.

  • Ability to quickly develop working experience with financial planning systems, previous experience with Workday Adaptive Planning a plus.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, information systems or equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience.

  • 4-6 years' previous experience in a financial planning and analysis role, business partnering or other finance area.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

The starting base pay range for this position is $87,000 - $115,000 annually. Base pay will vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and may also fluctuate depending on candidate's location and the overall job market. In addition to base pay, Tandem offers a competitive compensation package that includes bonus, equity, and a robust benefits package.

Tandem offers health care benefits such as medical, dental, vision, health savings accounts and flexible saving accounts. You'll also receive 11 paid holidays per year, a minimum of 20 days of paid time off (accrual starts on day 1) and have access to a 401k plan with company match.
