Sr. Financial Analyst

Overview

A Senior Financial Analyst, Financial Planning & Analysis is responsible for a full range of planning, forecasting and analysis activities including creating financial models, incorporating guidance received on validated assumptions, as well as challenging data and information integrity. The senior Financial Analyst assists management and other business partners by providing decision support to the business. Assisting the Manager of finance in financial close activities, the Senior Financial Analyst performs variance analyses in addition to managing various management reporting and communications to senior management.

The successful candidate will use a deep understanding of objectives, issues and root causes and provide insightful, fact-based data analysis to help solve complex problems. Taking initiative on providing analytical support; conducts research as required, shares skills and knowledge with colleagues. Business partnering with Key Stakeholders to align on business priorities and drive effective solutions/execution. Builds working relationships with management and other internal business partners in support of key priorities and objectives through complex analytics. Establishes and maintains consistent financial operational policies and procedures to govern related practices.

Role and Responsibilities

• Manage financial controllership, lead reviews of financial metrics, analyze variances, synthesize key business drivers, and communicate them to senior management in business terms and influence them through presenting actionable drivers.

• Take the lead in financial planning and analysis; building complex financial models and analytical tools to measure overall financial performance, including short to mid-range financial/operational forecasts, and communicating results to senior management.

• Build out and enhance P&L models to develop business insights and KPI dashboards and lead ad hoc analyses.

• Price and Cost management Inventory Reserve review Prepare business models for future products and construct business cases illustrating profit and loss statements.

• Support new service/product launches; understand cost drivers, headcount investments, and profitability.

• Oversee month end close and projection process, including variance analysis and monthly reporting.

• Correlate large amounts of financial data into meaningful cross-functional business discussions.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field. (MBA would be a plus).

• Strong PC skills: highly proficient in other MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint etc.)

• Experience with planning and consolidation tools (Hyperion Essbase, SAP, Oracle), financial modeling, data warehouse, and ERP systems required.

• Ability to read, interpret, and synthesize conclusions from financial statements using a grasp of financial and managerial accounting concepts.

• Ability to assess and interpret complex financial models and provide financial analysis and valuation support in business cases for product development.

• Strong data analytical skill with exceptional accuracy and attention to detail - Ability to perceive and analyze problems, develop alternatives, and recommend sound decisions using tables and charts.

• Team player with excellent interpersonal and effective communication / writing skills.

• Strong aptitude to learn and self-motivated.

• Demonstrated time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, demanding, and rapidly changing environment.
