Job Description:

The senior analyst, operations finance position is a high visibility role providing support to global manufacturing and supply chain business leaders. This position requires an ability to be adaptable to fast changing business/operational conditions, while providing timely and value added analysis in support of business decisions.

The ideal candidate will have experience in operations finance and be very familiar with key cost accounting concepts. They must possess the drive to create an impact in their relationship with a global, cross

functional team. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to frame and communicate business and operational issues and be proactive in recommending appropriate courses of action.


Provide end to end support; covering front end business support, financial planning and analysis, as

well as back end controllership and accounting for area(s) of direct responsibility

Drive the global consolidation of key performance indicators (KPI's) such as Overhead Spend,

Headcount, CAPEX, Volume, Absorption etc.

Play a major role in the global operations finance's quarterly forecasting, annual budgeting and

periodic variance reporting cycles.

Serve as liaison between the Corporate operations finance leadership team and the site operations

finance teams across regions on a wide range of topics.

Actively participate in the preparation of financial reporting package focused on performance related to

the manufacturing and supply chain organizations to the appropriate executive management


Provide deep insight into manufacturing and purchase activity variances with a view to helping

management understand their impact on overall performance.

Support continuous improvement initiatives in operations finance in such areas as overall KPI content,

as well as help improve forecast accuracy levels etc.

Interface with internal and external auditors and support overall control framework.

Support the standard cost setting process for both routine and annual cost roll activities

Provide leadership in the work order variance review process and provide meaningful insight into


Perform any other tasks as needed.


Minimum 3-5 years in Operations Finance and Cost Accounting

Strong hands-on experience with SAP is preferred; exposure to Cognos TM1 is a plus

Successful track record of effectively interfacing with manufacturing personnel to identify, support,

and execute on value-added ideas to improve profitability

Attention to details, strong analytical background as it pertains to understanding and explaining

manufacturing variances

Ability to influence cross functionally and solve complex problems

Strong Microsoft Excel skills required; Must be comfortable working with and analyzing large data files

Experience with Product life-cycle management (PLM) software a plus


Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.MBA, CPA or CMA a plus

Responsibilities * Perform risk analysis and mitigation on cost and schedule and recommend usage of contingency and maintain EACs within budget. * Working closely with Program/Project Managers on EAC development and forecasting. * Identify potential project problems early, report issues and problems to operations leadership, and work with project teams to address and implement recovery plans. * Set-up, monitor & report earned value progress measurement systems for projects, including analysis based on input from project leads. * Produce various adhoc planning and scheduling reports and analysis. * Preparation of spend plans and a wide variety of routine cost analyses, cash flow, and other cost related evaluations. * Create and maintain contracts continuity in accordance with management guidelines and and procedures. * Maintain supplier relationships to ensure optimal service and pricing. * Manage and issues purchase order after receiving purchase requisitions, researches price and options, converts purchase requisitions to orders after manager approval, supplies documentation to shipping/receiving and accounting. Tracking subcontractor invoices from receipt to payment. * Accountable for timely and accurate input of data. * Review of expenditure details, identifying incorrect charges, and commencement of the charge correction process. * Review, process and track sub consultant invoices on various projects. * Provide support for project pricing. * Work closely with human resources, accounting, and contracts management for year-end rate variance calculations and billing. * Assure change management systems and processes are implemented and followed. * Thorough and accurate review and analysis of defined cost and schedule elements. * Conduct timely and accurate documentation production. * Conduct unbilled analysis review and reconciliations. * Responsible for tracking the timely submission of all CDRLS. * Train and develop Jr project control staff. * Bid and Proposal support if requested. * Other duties assigned. Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university. * Eight (8) or more years of related experience in Financial Analysis, Project Control and or Program Management. * Three (3) or more years of supervisory experience. * Strong computer skills, MS Excel in particular (building and managing spreadsheets, creating charts and using advanced formulas such as pivot tables, sumif statements and vlookups). * High degree of accuracy and strict attention to detail * Excellent organizational, problem-solving and communication skills. * Self-motivated with excellent time management skills. * Desire to grow and learn. * Self-motivated, quick thinker, problem solver and quality first orientation. * Excellent customer service skills.
