Sr. Financial Analyst Communication and Payment Services Finance

Job Description:

  • Maintain and develop various financial models and standard templates distributed for use by BU Finance during the planning processes, ensuring quality, accuracy and focused analytic review.

  • In depth analysis of business performance in key areas.

  • Creation of models to track business changes and new products and opportunities.

  • Provide timely, relevant and accurate reporting & analysis of the results of the BU's performance against historical, budgeted, forecasted and strategic planning results to facilitate decision-making toward the achievement of the budget and strategic plan.

  • Support Financial Planning & Analysis(FP&A) business partners by being the first point of contact for issues and questions.

  • Describe an insightful use of financial analysis techniques, tools, and concepts, to provide practical counsel to business area partners and management to drive business results.

  • Understand and facilitate the integration of business processes, people, and relevant technology, in order to identify, configure, and communicate useful information, and to provide practical business leadership to drive business decision making across the BU.

  • Identify non-value added processes within the department and seeks solutions.

Minimum Requirements:

Education/Training

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA/MBA preferred

Business Experience

  • 5+ years of business finance or other relevant experience

  • Must have extremely strong MS Excel skills and skilled in MS Access

  • Financial modeling expertise

Specialized Knowledge/Skills

  • Financial systems experience required, TM1 IBM Planning Analytics experience is preferred

  • SG&A or Opex financial modeling and reporting experience is preferred

  • Financial business partner experience preferred

  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to multi-task and work in a challenging fast paced environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Maturity, professionalism, and high level of discretion are required

  • Comfort dealing with ambiguity and ability to work independently

  • Strong work ethic with a positive, can-do attitude

  • Independent worker and analytical thinker with an ability to conduct research, data analysis and resolve complex problems

  • Strong presence with the ability to interact with Senior Leadership.

This position will have primary responsibility for critical financial analysis and partnership with multiple stakeholders supporting the Retail line of business. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Develop, maintain, and improve financial models * Work with business partners and other team members to develop the Annual Operating Plan * Own the Retail portion of the Month End Close * Work with Operations and other business partners to obtain key metrics for monthly forecast * Present financial results/reports to non-financial audiences QUALIFICATIONS: * A proven track record of academic and professional excellence * 1 to 3 years of related business experience with demonstrated progression of responsibility or position. * Bachelor's degree, preferably in economics, finance, accounting, and/or analytics field. MBA or CPA viewed favorably * Hands-on leadership style with a proven ability to drive results * In-depth financial planning, financial analysis, data mining, and modeling expertise. Strong Excel financial modeling skills are critical * Demonstrated ability to consult and advise business unit leaders on a range of issues related to financial performance, business planning, strategic opportunities, and variance analysis * Exceptional communication and presentation skills * Intermediate to advanced technical skill, including proficiency with Microsoft Office suite. Experience with Hyperion Essbase is desirable but not required.
